Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is very quick to turn around and integrate.""I like that with Amazon QuickSight, you don't need to install an app to use its services. With other BI tools, you need to install the app, so Amazon QuickSight is better for me in this area.""It helped the managers to visualize the data activities.""A valuable feature of Amazon QuickSight is that it's a cloud-native service provided by AWS. As all platforms within my company run on AWS, that's the leverage of Amazon QuickSight. Amazon QuickSight is also easy to use, and I find the native connectors from AWS valuable as well.""The ease with which it integrates with different data sources is most valuable. Especially when everything is on AWS, it is easy to connect to the data source and organize different dashboards.""The product is easy to learn.""The graph charts, pie charts, and box plots are valuable.""From an analytics perspective, it's really good for self-service analytics."

"The solution is scalable.""The solution can handle a large volume of data.""It helps us fetch specific data sets per users' requirements.""The solution is stable and reliable.""Essbase is extremely stable and low-maintenance.""It's a very powerful analytical engine with Essbase as the back end. We can analyze, transform, or utilize a big chunk of data for our calculations.""It is very fast compared to other normal databases, like SQL and MySQL.""It is highly efficient and easily scalable, particularly for handling large databases."

Cons
"It is a simple tool with limited features. Its visualization set is very limited, and it also has limited functionality. An intelligence tool should not be only for creating reports. Currently, we have to do all computational and mathematical operations outside. We should be able to do such operations in an intelligence tool like this. As an intelligence tool, it should support dynamic refresh. QuickSight currently supports the refresh at a minimum of one hour, and it is not suitable for dynamic dashboards that require frequent refreshes.""The number of features in the product is limited in comparison with the other tools in the market, like Power BI.""There is room for improvement in terms of the number of visualizations and dashboards that are available.""Amazon QuickSight's visualization could be improved.""They could provide more options for graphics and other features.""Amazon QuickSight has minimal features. The feature set can be improved to allow you to create good production-ready dashboards. This does not happen with QuickSite, it needs to mature to be used in production.""An area for improvement in Amazon QuickSight is storage. Data cleanup also needs improvement because I'm experiencing errors when cleaning the data. Amazon QuickSight needs video tutorials showing its different functions and purposes.""Lacked connectivity with other third-party tools and data sources."

"It's an expensive product to use.""The initial setup is pretty complex.""The ability to drive external reporting out for development could be improved.""I would like to see an integration with application performance management and a version control management tool.""The reporting tool of Essbase needs improvement.""There is room for improvement in terms of cost-effectiveness.""They should improve the solution's performance.""The solution could enhance business analytics. I delved into the data using Oracle Essbase to create a new support tool."
