Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Easily able to connect with our other services and easy to manage.""The solution's most valuable feature is its flexibility to visualize certain logs.""One of the most valuable features of Amazon QuickSight has been the speed at which visualizations can be created.""From an analytics perspective, it's really good for self-service analytics.""The solution is simple to implement.""The solution is very quick to turn around and integrate.""Amazon QuickSight has introduced a new functionality called Q bar, which allows the user to do natural language queries and get additional insights using some built-in generative capabilities.""The integration is very seamless. We stored our result CSV files in S3 and connected directly from there."

"The most valuable feature of Oracle OBIEE is interactive reporting because it allows better analysis versus conventional reporting, especially on the data warehouse side.""Easy to create ad hoc reporting for different solutions.""Both the vertical and horizontal scalability of the solution is good. In terms of scalability, I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.""Oracle OBIEE is a scary and stable product since it is a strong and well-created tool... In short, the solution is stable since it works properly every day.""The main features of this solution are that it is easy to use, intuitive, and user-friendly. When I retrieve the data from the database it is in a very raw form, then when I use the Oracle Report Builder it has advanced intelligence features to allow me to view and make changes to the data easily.""The solution is user-friendly.""We can see almost-real-time performance in our operations. When there is a problem, it is easy to escalate it to top management and the time for management to make a decision about it is much shorter than it would be using a manual process.""The centralized metadata model component is most valuable."

Cons
"The product is quite expensive because the price is too close to QlikView's prices but it does not ring as well as QlikView.""It is a simple tool with limited features. Its visualization set is very limited, and it also has limited functionality. An intelligence tool should not be only for creating reports. Currently, we have to do all computational and mathematical operations outside. We should be able to do such operations in an intelligence tool like this. As an intelligence tool, it should support dynamic refresh. QuickSight currently supports the refresh at a minimum of one hour, and it is not suitable for dynamic dashboards that require frequent refreshes.""There could be an end-to-end pipeline for data cleaning as well as presenting it using different visualizations.""There should be better connectors for different data sets.""The number of features in the product is limited in comparison with the other tools in the market, like Power BI.""They could provide more options for graphics and other features.""I just want a few more features to be added.""It can be made more user-friendly as some users might find this solution hard to implement. Qlik Sense, for example, is very user-friendly."

More Amazon QuickSight Cons →

"Expanding beyond pure data reporting and into analytics, or expanding data science, would be areas for improvement.""Managing the OB applications requires a high level of experience, and makes the solution quite heavy.""They should develop greater visualization because their visualization isn't industry leading at the moment. The way you pull the data and see the data compared to other platforms, they're lagging a little bit behind. Also, their cost. I've got Oracle account managers trying to persuade me every day to purchase these licenses. Once you purchase OBIEE, then you have to purchase the virtualization and then you have to purchase the mobile license to operate on the mobile. It's really expensive.""For a beginner, this is a product that is difficult to learn. You cannot learn it quickly.""If the data is large, the dashboard takes a really long time. So, based on the database, if you have around a million cost contacts, the load time is very low, and the dashboard fails.""The platform's data visualization features need improvement.""In terms of tech support, we have our own technicians. But, we did register for their help. When we register a call, it takes time for them to respond to us.""The pricing of the solution should be bettered."

    Reviews from Real Users

Sandeep V., Process System Engineer at a comms service provider, tells us, “This solution is very easy for people who are building ad-hoc things. It's an enterprise solution so it can be deployed for a lot of users. There are some great new features that come with the 12c like data visualization, desktop BI Publisher, automation, and interactive dashboards. The product has good features. “

A user who is a CEO at a consultancy relates, “The most valuable feature is the visualization. The data warehousing, data storage, and data wrangling are all features that are in there, and it's one of the better products out there. A good thing is that for large datasets, it's very stable, especially when you have an Oracle database.”

A user who is a Principal Business Intelligence Architect at a computer software company suggests, "It is very biased towards Oracle infrastructure. One of the major red flags we have at the moment against Oracle is that it doesn't support deployment on other cloud providers. We're quite heavily vested in AWS as our infrastructure, and Oracle is yet to formally support deploying on those virtual infrastructure instances. That's quite disappointing, and it also cuts them out of over 70% of the market."
