We performed a comparison between Check Point Harmony Endpoint and Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Check Point Harmony is the winner in this comparison. It is a powerful and flexible solution that is easy to deploy. Kaspersky does come out on top in the pricing category, however.
"The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure."
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy."
"The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers."
"The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls."
"It is stable and scalable."
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"It offers complete endpoint protection for all assets."
"In terms of network usage, it actually reduced the amount of malicious attacks that we had. Before, we really didn't have a secure network. Each endpoint had to protect itself and probably most of them were not actually protected. Now, it's an entire process in which we've been able to cut down significantly the amount of malicious attacks by 60 percent that we get in the organization. It helps us to adequately monitor what has been going on with our network traffic and stopping individual attacks from accessing certain sites where we want to have restrictions or limitations."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint features different types of features but one of the most useful is an up-to-date and working anti-malware scanner."
"I have found the Zero phishing and IPS features the most useful in Check Point Harmony Endpoint. Additionally, threat emulation sandboxing is effective."
"Its ability to rollback anti-ransomware once an attack has started is the most valuable feature."
"Harmony's endpoint sandboxing is really good."
"The technical support is good."
"It prevents the most imminent threats to the endpoint such as ransomware, phishing or drive-by malware, while quickly minimizing breach impact with autonomous detection and response."
"I like that Kaspersky isn't heavy."
"The main feature of this solution is it is easy to use."
"I have found the most useful features to be protected against viruses, mail threats, encryption of the devices, and MDM. There are a lot of features."
"One of the main features of this solution is the fast scanning capabilities."
"The interface is friendly."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is its deployment. It is easy to centrally deploy. You can deploy it on the Administration Console then deploy it to the different endpoint machines without specifically deploying it manually on each machine. Its deployment is really user friendly."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security protects against viruses and dangerous software, and it's also great because it has a component that is useful for the deployment of software versions to the end user's computer."
"The initial setup is very simple."
"Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation."
"The dashboard isn't easy to access and manage."
"We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments."
"I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers."
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller."
"The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices."
"The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud."
"The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions"
"The solution needs more alerts to warn of attacks."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint's agent is a bit heavy."
"Endpoint vulnerability management is one of the modules I believe is missing and it is something that is required."
"The application control and URL filtering features are not very strong."
"The only thing that our customers want, is lower prices."
"As of now, product-wise, we haven't found any major concern that needs to improve, although it does not support full MDM and this is something that should be there."
"Improvements are required in two key areas: notifications and setup simplification."
"As I understand there will be a URL filtering feature included with the browser agent in the future. This will allow URL filtering without the need for a Gateway Device. This is something I am looking forward to and would be a great addition to list of features."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business needs an easier mechanism for updates."
"The installation is technical. You need to be certified."
"The initial setup is complex."
"The encryption feature could improve."
"The application updates and drive encryption are lacking."
"The application running speed consumes that of RAM, so performance speed is an issue."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business doesn't have a built-in DLP (data loss prevention) solution."
"There are quite a number of areas for improvement. The first area for improvement is that I find this solution to be very resource intensive when you're running a particular task, even a mere scanning task, even though it's running in the background. When you go to inspect the resources you realize it makes the machine very slow. It takes up a lot of resources even though there are no particular scanning tasks scheduled to run. That's one of the issues."
