We performed a comparison between Cisco IOS Security and Darktrace based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Intrusion Detection and Prevention Software (IDPS) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It covers everything we need it to without looking to secondary solutions."
"The technical is excellent."
"The solution effectively integrates with Umbrella."
"I'm able to transfer data over internet network security. With the GRE I'm able to transfer data within one bunch to another bunch in a public way, like the internet. The communication is encrypted and is private. It gives me added privacy."
"The VPN connection portal scan works flawlessly, which was a big plus for us."
"In Pakistan, we only use Cisco because they have good local support infrastructure. Huawei and Fortinet don't offer direct support in Pakistan."
"The stability of this solution is excellent."
"Cisco IOS Security is very robust and works very well."
"Darktrace is very useful for us because it has a large number of models for detecting threats."
"I find it very good in the way that they show the past events, including the attack history."
"It's a very stable product."
"We are able to detect a lot of things, actually, and see what is happening in our network."
"I have used multiple solutions, but its graphical user interface is quite interesting and quite descriptive. There are a lot of video animations, and we can easily see how the data is transferred between various points. That's something really interesting. It is also quite easy to understand for a new user."
"What I like about Darktrace, is that you can quickly identify threats."
"I have found the most valuable features to be artificial intelligence for cybersecurity, advanced machine learning capabilities, enterprise Immune System, Antigena Network, and Antigena Email. The way the solution detects the threat over the network before it spreads is very good. It notifies you of what the threat is exactly doing and gives you all the details about the execution of that application that had created the threat over your network."
"The most valuable feature has been the behavioral analytics that allows us to monitor all the traffic."
"There could be a bit more functions on offer that could make it easier to use."
"The routers, don't have like long-term tendency features, or higher availability features available for the IOS. It could also use a better user interface."
"While Cisco IOS Security is stable and scalable, I would like to see it improved to be even better."
"We faced significant challenges related to licensing issues, particularly when licenses expire."
"Sometimes I find it difficult to manage. Some configurations are difficult for new engineers, for example."
"With respect to user-friendliness, it is a command-line interface and those with such experience will get along just fine, whereas others may struggle."
"I wish it would be more like the next generation firewall technology. There should be more selection between the application and filtering."
"It takes too much time to deploy a policy to FMC. It takes around eight minutes. You can't afford any downtime when you're changing policies."
"I'd love them to see maybe covering the cloud a bit more."
"The main portal needs improvement as it is difficult to use."
"The solution could be easier to use."
"Upper management wasn't sold on the value proposition."
"I would like to see some additional enhancements."
"In terms of improvements, fine-tuning is the area where we have to spend some time because it works on unsupervised machine learning. It would be good if they can improve their algorithm or technical functionality to reduce the fine-tuning effort. They can also come up with something at the endpoint level. So far, Darktrace has been a network detection response (NDR) solution. It does not offer much at the endpoint level or on user-client devices or servers. There should be more visibility at the endpoint level. It would be good to have the detection and response at the endpoint level by Darktrace. It should also have integration with an agile environment so that we can have continuous development and continuous integration in the application development environment. This is currently not there. It should also have internet-facing platform visibility, which is currently missing. They also need to improve the reporting and management dashboards. Currently, these are not so easy for a non-technical person. All these features would make Darktrace much better, and they would also be helpful in selling more solutions."
"The cost is a bit on the higher side."
"I would like to see more protection in the endpoint. Especially because we have a lot of people using VPNs. If they would improve end point security, it would give more control there."
