Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The logs and reporting features are impressive.""Password Vault's policy configuration is very good - when you receive an attack, you can segment the structure of the project in order to isolate parts or users.""The PSM is excellent and the ability to write your own connectors and plugins is invaluable as far as flexibility goes.""Thus far I can say technical support is excellent. We haven't had any issues or difficulties.""The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it's the best in the market. I haven't seen any other PAM solutions better than CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault.""The most valuable features of CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault are password rotations and password encryptions.""In terms of stability, there are no complaints.""Our privileged accounts are now stored in a more secure location and lateral movement within the network have been lessened."

"The most valuable feature of this solution is that it provides us with a secure way of managing passwords.""Number one is the password vault; it's very good. Number two, they have a feature for remote desktops that are created on a per session basis, which is very good for security.""It offers the possibility of secure administration of hardware devices, as well as Linux systems administration from a Windows environment.""Provides us with the ability to control access [to secrets] by groups.""One of the features I find most valuable is workflow, which allows you to configure the solution to have multiple approvals.""Technical support is pretty good.""Its technical support is good.""I have found the password management and the secret management features to be the most valuable. Our customers find its ease of integration and the use of power shells really attractive."

Cons
"I'd like it to be a little more granular. I want a little bit more control over exactly what we do. I know if you do that, you add more knobs and dials to deal with, but that's just my personal approach: granular access.""There is a little bit of confusion in the implementation part, especially when one tries to understand the actual working of the product.""CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault's deployment is complex for resources with little experience. Tech support needs to be improved as well based on quality and knowledge.""In the next release, they could simplify the setup and I would like some tasks added like file sharing. When a client connects to CyberArk and wants to put a file on the server, they cannot.""CyberArk's license is too expensive. I rate it seven out of 10 for affordability.""I would like to see more integration with more tools, for more APIs.""The only problem involves granting access to people who are authorized to view it.""The challenge with the product is pricing since it's expensive. It also needs to improve the customization. We encountered some stability issues as well."

More CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault Cons →

"This product is excellent in every way except minor details in handling extremely large environments.""We find the documentation hard to understand.""I would like to see improvement with the integration with Azure Active Directory. This would mean that we can have support on multiple platforms such as Windows, Linux, and Mac.""We always ask for partner enablement, which is more like a soft requirement rather than a product requirement. It would be great if they can provide us deeper knowledge of their products for integration.""What needs improvement? The product can be improved by reducing the number of updates provided.""I think that the main interface should integrate better with non-standard applications and clients, to connect with other systems.""The technical support needs improvement. For example, if you have any problems on the server configuring the IIS, they would provide you very limited details and they would tell you the problem is on your end.""As I am partial to CyberArk, I rate Thycotic Password Reset Server as a nine out of ten, owing to the minor glitches I mentioned."

    Overview

CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault, a vital component of the CyberArk Privileged Access Manager Solution (PAM), is designed to create, secure, rotate, and control access to privileged accounts and credentials used to access systems throughout an enterprise IT ecosystem. CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault enables enterprise organizations to better understand the scope of their privileged account risks and put controls in place to prevent malicious or inappropriate account or credential access.

CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault uses a Central Policy Manager protocol (CPM) to perform the basic password management functions.

    • Verify Password Task - The CPM will pull the password from the vault and use it to log into the application or device to verify that the password is indeed correct and satisfies all the password safety protocols.
    • Change Password Task - The CPM will pull the password from the vault and create a new password that meets all preset protocols. It will send it to the device or application and then begin the process of changing it, using the same method that might be performed manually. The CPM will then update the password in the vault.
    • Reconcile Password Task - This task is utilized when there is a failure in either the Verify Password Task or the Change Password Task. Using a pre-established reconcile account from the vault, the CPM will use the reconcile account credentials to reset or fix problematic password issues due to changed passwords not being updated properly, new accounts being established, or any other failure with the above tasks.

Enterprise organizations can utilize the easily adaptable policies and protocols to enforce granular privileged access controls, automate workflows, and rotate passwords at prescribed regular intervals without requiring any manual IT effort. Additionally, to satisfy compliance regulations, organizations can easily generate reports to prove that passwords are being changed regularly according to guidelines, meet strict password safety protocols, and report on which users accessed what privileged accounts, when, why, and what device they were using. Enterprise organizations can know at all times that data has remained secure at all times. CyberArk Password Vault will have enterprise organizations audit-ready at all times, keeping them safe and secure from risks while maximizing productivity and profitability.
