We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Fortinet FortiEDR made our clients feel secure and more at ease, knowing that they had an EDR solution that would close the gap in their security posture.""Fortinet FortiEDR's firewalling, rule creation, monitoring, and inspection profiles are great.""The setup is pretty simple.""Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work.""This is stable and scalable.""The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure.""The product's initial setup phase is very easy.""The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors"

"There are some great features in ESET Endpoint Antivirus when you are browsing on the internet. For example, they have a notification if within your LAN network something is suspected to be a threat. Additionally, the malware features are very good.""It's light. I almost don't know that I am using it.""ESET Endpoint Security’s most valuable feature is the management console.""I find the main valuable feature to be the antivirus, it is very effective with removing viruses.""It's easy to set up and quick to deploy.""ESET provides good protection.""It can block certain web pages that may contain viruses or pose a threat to the computer.""Technical support has been very good. They are helpful and responsive."

"The great thing is that if you get a malicious email and you try to run something, ThreatLocker is not going to let it do anything. It is not going to let anything infect your network.""The most valuable feature is probably the ability to block programs from running. ThreatLocker has some built-in features that make it super easy. You can also contact their support within the program. If you're having issues, you can click on that button and connect with someone in five to 10 seconds.""Application control, ring-fencing, and storage control are the most important features, followed closely by elevation.""Using ThreatLocker is effortless because I can access it from an app on my phone, so I can help clients after hours. My client had an issue while I was at dinner, and I didn't have a tech on the problem, but I could deal with it from my phone. I can see what the client is doing and approve or deny it. It helps me deliver better service to my clients when they need it.""ThreatLocker Allowlisting has all of these features integrated into one console, making it effective.""The biggest improvement has been knowing that something unauthorized isn't going to get installed on anyone’s machines.""Feature-wise, the learning mode and the fact that it's blocking everything are the most valuable. I don't see why more companies don't use the type of product.""Every single feature has been invaluable."

Cons
"The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices.""The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation.""Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office.""Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection.""Detections could be improved.""The solution is not user-friendly.""FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"The migration between on-prem and cloud has room for improvement.""They should focus more on the offline market as well. Everybody is connected nowadays, and they want to do everything via cloud or fast internet connections, however, that's still not possible in many situations.""We would like to see more options in the help menu for users.""The use of SQL Server can be improved. At times, there is a bit of challenge while linking it with the Javascript. ESET Endpoint Security requires modern technology or modern equipment on site. You will find it difficult to use ESET Endpoint Security with dual-core machines. If they can add the cloud management feature to their product, it will be much easier. If you look at this COVID situation that we are in right now, people are working from home, so you need to control the computers wherever you are. For example, if you are using any email setup and you are hosting it on your own, all the email traffic will be going through the same network. You need to protect all of your computers from the attack. It is best if you can do it remotely rather than having an IT person to come onsite to manage all computers and metrics etc, which isn't a smart way to do it.""ESET Endpoint Security lacks some advanced functionalities and features which would be useful to be interconnected with the solutions we use, such as Microsoft 365.""I suspect there will be some changes required to ESET because some experts I know just moved to MDR. I can imagine there might be some issues that were not fully covered by the ESET Endpoint that would be covered by MDR that we're on now.""I think that ESET is a little too heavy on the CPU.""The problem was that it didn't support Windows 7."

More ESET Endpoint Protection Platform Cons →

"More visibility in the built-ins would be nice.""The snapshots used in the ThreatLocker University portal are outdated snippets and have not been updated in conjunction with the portal itself.""From a reporting perspective, enhancing the ability to customize reports would be beneficial.""Adding applications to the allowlist can sometimes feel overwhelming.""ThreatLocker Allowlisting needs to improve its user interface and overall workflow.""The reporting could be improved.""Something we have come up against a couple of times is that we have two clients that are software developers. They create software that doesn't have digital signatures and that's not easy to categorize or whitelist with ThreatLocker. We have to go in and make custom rules to allow them to do their work and to be protected from malicious threats.""There are some times when applications get submitted, the hashes don't really line up."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.

This simplifies the administration of security policies, streamlines the detection and response processes, and provides detailed reporting capabilities, making it easier for IT professionals to maintain a secure and compliant IT environment.

The ThreatLocker platform is a robust Zero Trust endpoint security solution, safeguarding organizations against ransomware, malware, and various cyber threats through a unified approach.
