We performed a comparison between Fortinet FortiClient and Trellix Endpoint Security based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out."
"Impressive detection capabilities"
"Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers."
"The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers."
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."
"Fortinet FortiEDR's firewalling, rule creation, monitoring, and inspection profiles are great."
"The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls."
"Fortinet FortiEDR made our clients feel secure and more at ease, knowing that they had an EDR solution that would close the gap in their security posture."
"The solution's most valuable feature is its integration capabilities. The processing is fast and the reporting is also very good."
"The most valuable features are malware detection, integrates well with other solutions, and ease of use for all users."
"It is very simple to use. I've used some of the others in the past, such as Cisco AnyConnect, which was a nightmare. I've used a couple of others, but FortiClient is very simple to use."
"Fortinet FortiClient can be used with FortiManager to observe all actions that are happening."
"Installation was easy."
"It's pretty stable, and I don't have any problems with it."
"The most valuable feature is the single pane of glass, single point of management."
"The solution has inexpensive scalability, works very well and can communicate with other Fortinet devices."
"Trellix Security Endpoint can promptly isolate any host machines directly from the console. If alerts are received and isolation is necessary, it can be accomplished through the console. The console itself holds significant value, accessible through a browser and allowing remote actions via cloud login."
"The most valuable feature is the centralized console where everything can be controlled by the administration."
"Threat prevention is valuable because most clients use other solutions like antivirus as part of web protection. I don't find that kind of solution useful."
"What I like best is the integrated end-to-end security that works with the security information and events manager."
"The most valuable feature of Trellix Endpoint Security is containment, which takes less than a minute."
"The DLP and user interface are the most valuable feature."
"It's quite easy to install agents."
"It can be deployed quickly, and it's scalable. Those are the two advantages of it."
"I haven't seen the use of AI in the solution."
"The SIEM could be improved."
"The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection."
"The solution is not stable."
"We find the solution to be a bit expensive."
"We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments."
"The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud."
"Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."
"An area of improvement could be better integration with the active directory. I did not find it easy to configure."
"I would like Fortinet to improve FortiClient's compatibility with macOS."
"There is lagging in some of the authentication tools to support the newer versions, this is happening because they are not supported."
"More integration would be beneficial."
"While we like patch management, it would be nice if it could handle patch management for other solutions, like Microsoft."
"I have yet to find the benefits of the latest upgraded version."
"The quality and response time of the support team must be improved."
"The tool is expensive."
"The vendor should simplify the way they bundle the products because it's very hard to explain to customers what products contain which features."
"The DAC (Dynamic Application Containment) component of this product needs improvement."
"When it runs in the background of the endpoint, the devices get slowed down for some applications."
"The solution's technical support should be improved since we faced a lot of issues with the support. There were some delays in responses from the technical support."
"The resolution time should be faster."
"McAfee Endpoint Protection could improve the word control feature."
"If there's a possibility for remote assistance or investigation support in the future, it would be beneficial. Currently, we use another remote software for such purposes. If this feature could be included in the next version, that would be an improvement. The feature is called Remote Administration. I'm somewhat satisfied, but there's an issue I recently encountered. When attempting to scan a suspected host machine, Symantec Endpoint Security did not provide any alerts. However, when we installed Malwarebytes and ran a scan, it detected a threat that wasn't identified by Symantec. We raised this concern with the team for resolution, and the investigation is still ongoing."
"An area in need of improvement involves the overview, which usually does not enable one to get the value in reports."
