We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The GUI makes administration tasks straightforward.""FortiSandbox analyzes the behavior of processes in a sandbox environment, which is useful for threat hunting. The solution has an excellent standard configuration, and you can prioritize the types of files of VMs you want to analyze. It also integrates seamlessly with other Fortinet solutions, like FortiGate, FortiMail, and FortiEMS.""The solution is very good because it catches a lot of threats in emails.""Performance is a valuable feature.""Fortinet FortiSandbox is faster than other sandbox solutions.""Integration is one of the solution's most valuable aspects. You can integrate even third-party solutions so that they can send the information or files they quarantine through the FortiSandbox""The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiSandbox are the analysis options, artificial intelligence, and the many interfaces it provides.""The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiSandbox are customization, ICAP protocol, and integration with other vendors. Additionally, the security work very well."

"Over the thirteen years of using the product, we have not experienced a single compromise in our environment. During the COVID period, we faced numerous DDoS attacks, and the tool proved highly effective in mitigating these threats.""It protects from signature-based attacks and signature-less attacks. The sandboxing technology, invented by FireEye, is very valuable. Our customers go for FireEye because of the sandboxing feature. When there is a threat or any malicious activity with a signature, it can be blocked by IPS. However, attacks that do not have any signatures and are very new can only be blocked by using the sandboxing feature, which is available only in FireEye. So, FireEye has both engines. It has an IPS engine and a sandbox engine, which is the best part. You can get complete network protection by using FireEye.""The sandbox feature of FireEye Network Security is very good. The operating system itself has many features and it supports our design.""The most valuable feature of the solution stems from how it allows users to do the investigation part. Another important part of the product that is valuable is associated with how it gives information to users in the form of a storyline.""I also like its logging method. Its logging is very powerful and useful for forensic purposes. You can see the traffic or a specific activity or how something entered your network and where it went.""The MVX Engine seems to be very capable against threats and the way it handles APTs is impressive.""The solution can scale.""If we are receiving spam emails, or other types of malicious email coming from a particular email ID, then we are able to block them using this solution."

Cons
"Something that needs to improve, is the end-point protection.""The use cases in Fortinet FortiSandbox are not good. It is difficult to upload a custom VM for Fortinet FortiSandbox. The integration of Fortinet FortiSandbox with other Fortinet or FortiGate firewalls is not good. VMs are already installed in the hardware and are working fine, but we tried to approve the custom VM many times but did not succeed.""For additional features, maybe a form of execution pain files in a non-virtual environment because it has threats that identify when it is being run in a virtual machine.""Sometimes, there are issues upgrading the version of the firewall or the SD-LAN box. After we upgrade to the latest version of the software, we still have the same box. I think it's the same for every vendor.""In general, maybe they are not updated to cover risks.""If updated, Fortinet FortiSandbox could cover other risks.""I would like to have machine learning added to the solution in a future release.""When you reach the maximum capacity, you cannot upgrade the solution because its hardware is very expensive."

More Fortinet FortiSandbox Cons →

"Stability issues manifested in terms of throughput maximization.""It is not a very secure product.""They can maybe consider supporting some compliance standards. When we are configuring rules and policies, it can guide whether they are compliant with a particular compliance authority. In addition, if I have configured some rules that have not been used, it should give a report saying that these rules have not been used in the last three months or six months so that I disable or delete those rules.""Technical support could be improved.""Based on what we deployed, they should emphasize the application filtering and the web center. We need to look deeper into the SSM inspection. If we get the full solution with that module, we don't need to get the SSM database from another supplier.""We'd like the potential for better scaling.""Cybersecurity posture has room for improvement.""It is very expensive, the price could be better."
