Find out in this report how the two HCI solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable feature of this solution is the support. They are excellent and you can learn a lot from the support team."
"The most useful aspect is the hyper-converged SD SAN and the ease to expand it by just adding cheap SSD or NVME disks."
"Before VSAN, hypervisor configuration changes and updates resulted in VM outages. Now, downtime is dramatically reduced."
"The ease of reaching the support team and their promptness for support is great."
"We have experienced multiple hardware failures at one site and the fault-tolerant volume worked exactly as expected with zero downtime."
"This solution made it possible to deploy a new infrastructure in the shortest amount of time, at a low cost without purchasing expensive hardware storage, and use unused servers."
"This product now allows us to migrate virtual machines between nodes as if we had a dedicated $100,000 SAN in the mix without the additional cost and management of the SAN."
"The install itself is easy as pie."
"Its deduplication and backup functions are reliable."
"The rate of compression for the data in SimpliVity is the most valuable feature."
"Valuable features include ease of use, disaster recovery, and reliability."
"I find the replication feature valuable."
"Best for companies just starting out."
"The most valuable features of SimpliVity are the built-in backup and immunity to ransomware."
"PCX card implementation improves speed."
"It has been performing well. It was more than what we expected."
"We find the setup quite straightforward and very easy."
"The VX machines are scalable."
"Installation is straightforward because it's a vSAN. It only took one or two days."
"Lenovo ThinkAgile VX Series' deployment is easy. We are a tier-one platinum partner who is into multiple implementations."
"There is no IPv6 support. That is our only issue at this time."
"When you will cease your contract with StarWind (for support) your product won't be updated and that is a big selling point, especially for us, as we have loads of products from StarWind."
"The system failovers properly on its own without too much worry."
"Some of the documentation seems to be a bit older and refers to deprecated items."
"It took a bit of knowledge and support to put in place but once installed it works fine. Migration (HyperV) from one server to another sometimes takes longer than expected but there is no data loss even if the host crashes."
"We would like the documentation to be more complete. Most items are covered, but if you don't know something, you may need to contact their support."
"Performance when in storage-separate configuration needs to be improved."
"It would be great to have more automated tooling around managing the iSCSI connections in Windows"
"If there was anything I would like to see, it would be indexed backups."
"It could integrate better with other platforms. It's a proprietary solution of HPE, so you are stuck. Before I was running SimpliVity as an independent solution. it wasn't a card and software, so you could put in whatever server, IBM, Dell, etc."
"Deployment could be simplified and more user friendly."
"I would like them to add more connection capability, a hub and spoke model, to improve the number of connections that it can handle."
"I can say that the support was better when it was a separate company, when it was SimpliVity. But, now with HPE it has not been quite as good. B"
"HPE SimpliVity should cost less."
"The local support in Argentina is not good. This is a new technology and HP doesn't have a lot of technology specialists here in Argentina. It's very hard to find the specialist here."
"The solution wasn't able to connect to the cloud, and there's no micro-segmentation. The configuration of this solution is also complex."
"Lenovo ThinkAgile VX Series needs to improve its stability. Its resolution should be faster."
"With the VX machines, the clients often confuse the hardware itself with the services and resources. VMs are configured according to resources - memory, hard disk capacity, and network. These resources, including memory and processor, are actually shared on the VX Series. So, if the server's processor is underpowered or unreliable for the VMs, many of the VMs will encounter issues. Ideally, the physical server configuration should align more closely with the needs of the virtual servers."
"The user management could be a bit better. It's something they could improve upon in future releases."
"Support could be better."
