We performed a comparison between IBM API Connect and MuleSoft Anypoint API Manager based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two API Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable feature of IBM API Connect is the security of the protocol."
"API Connect is a good product, and everything works fine. All the analytics are good, and it is easy to follow up. I like it in that sense. I'm more focused on following up on analytics by seeing how many API calls we are getting and where we see a lot of problems. I was working on that API level."
"It acts as a central gateway for both external APIs and underlying systems. It's basically a central middleware for hosting APIs to the internet and consuming APIs from internal systems. It provides central governance for any APIs going outside the network, ensuring security and a common contract for API definitions."
"This solution is ready to scale and already supports our agile CICD."
"Using API Connect allows us to quickly create proxy APIs and saves time on end-to-end testing, which lets us deliver quickly to clients."
"Publishers can easily identify, create, and publish APIs on the developer portal, defining plans, packages, and potentially billing rules."
"One of the most valuable features is that we can seamlessly and harmoniously expose our capabilities, from a security point of view."
"Easy to configure security and generate API keys."
"Offers good integration and flexibility."
"The developer portal is easy to integrate. It is easy to use, easy to integrate, and I like the developer portal."

"MuleSoft Anypoint API Manager is a low-code product."
"This is a good API management product."
"MuleSoft has given the API solution a 3-tiered architecture. This means that there are multiple channels available in one application. The usability is very high."
"The product improved data exchange processes by enhancing communication between various messaging queues. There was a heavy reliance on queues for indexing clusters and data transfer in this particular environment. The product facilitated the transfer of messages from one queue to another, ensuring data flow and processing across different topics."
"The ease of policy maintenance and API functionality are key features for me. They streamline business processes by allowing configurable control over policies, instead of writing codes and making maintenance more straightforward."
"Installation is weak."
"Firstly, the pricing model, when compared to other open sources, is high. Secondly, the availability of resources in the market, specifically the developers available in the market, is not so much."
"The solution is not scalable."
"Different versions of the same thing can mean unnecessary duplication."
"It would be helpful to have access monitoring."
"The monetization of the API could be improved. The pricing for the consumer is also very important to improve this solution."
"Possible improvement is mainly around having more of the cloud oriented architecture bringing stability in adding new capabilities around security."
"They seem to have left out a feature for microservices and also a certification module for OIDC."
"The pricing is a bit expensive."
"It can offer workflows, orchestration, and webhooks."
"The dashboards in Mulesoft Anypoint API Manager could improve."
"There should be more pricing options or certain discounts for the education sector."
"Licensing costs should be reduced, it's quite expensive."
