We performed a comparison between IBM Integration Bus and Oracle Service Bus based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."One of the most valuable features is App Connect Enterprise makes it possible to deploy it in the OpenShift cluster, which is very good. Overall the solution is very flexible."
"IBM Integration Bus is flexible, easy to use, and easy to configure."
"I found all features valuable. There are a lot of connectors."
"I really like SQL integration nodes, HTTP nodes, event handling, event monitoring, the performance of the solution."
"The stability is mostly pretty good."
"It makes the communication between multiple and heterogeneous applications so easy. We can bring together different messages and applications from different platforms and connect them through IBM Integration Bus."
"IBM Integration Bus is a very strong tool."
"The most valuable features of the IBM Integration Bus are the flexibility to easily integrate with other solutions, such as SAP or any other vendors."
"Monitoring feature that allows tracking of the web's UI development."
"It is lightweight and one can easily integrate with different applications, databases, JMS, or web services through different protocols."
"What I like most about Oracle Service Bus is that you can use it for many integrations. For example, you can use it for on-premises to on-premises integrations, on-premises to cloud integrations, and cloud to on-premises integrations."
"It is stable."
"The solution is quite stable overall. We haven't witnessed any performance issues so far."
"What I found most valuable in Oracle Service Bus is its time to market. It's excellent."
"The routing and aggregation are the most valuable features. It's split and join."
"The interface is fine and the solution is quite robust."
"We have come across many customer complaints about the excessive time it takes for IBM to provide customer and technical support."
"The solution needs to simplify its documentation, such as the user and operation manuals, to make them even easier to understand."
"I would rate the support from IBM Integration Bus a seven out of ten. They are very helpful but sometimes it takes too long for them to respond."
"It needs improvement in terms of technical support as well as in terms of integration of data mining. I am not convinced about many things in this solution, such as the conversion of the DFDL or copybook file, which is the conversion from a text file to XML. It is very complex. They should also provide more information about this solution in the IBM Knowledge Center. I can get a lot of information from the IBM Knowledge Center about DataStage, but I don't get that much information about IBM Integration Bus. There is hardly any information even on the internet and various channels such as YouTube. They can provide good step-by-step documentation based on a company's requirements. It would be really helpful. My company is mainly looking for data mining and communicating with multiple servers. IBM Integration Bus is good for communicating with multiple servers, but it needs improvement for XML conversion and data mining. We have a lot of old systems that use XML."
"I can't say that there is any improvement I’m looking for. I’m new and haven’t connected with all features. For all drawbacks that were in the old version, I think they have been solved. The scalability needs improvement."
"I think security should be more simplified."
"The memory footprint should be minimized."
"We have to stop the integration server to start the debugging process."
"It needs to support more adapters, because the integration points keep changing and new things keep coming up. It also needs to be more scalable."
"The error-handling capability can be improved"
"The inconvenient part about working with this product is that it's very heavy, requiring a lot of people and a lot of resources."
"If they can containerize this, that would be nice. If they can provide docker images and offer support for those containers, that would be great."
"The interface console is very slow. Even in production, we need to increase the RAM or CPU. And even after that, the performance is still not good in production."
"There is significant room for improvement in the monitoring capabilities."
"There are times when I select components in composite and they do not appear, and I cannot figure out why."
"What needs improvement in Oracle Service Bus is the connectivity between adapters such as the Salesforce adapter and database adapters. The limited number of adapters compatible with Oracle Service Bus makes you want to switch to a different solution."
