We performed a comparison between Aruba ClearPass and Tenable Security Center based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Cisco, HPE Aruba Networking, Forescout and others in Network Access Control (NAC)."What I like best about Aruba ClearPass is its 802.1X certificate-based authentication feature."
"Aruba ClearPass's most valuable features are simple accessing, operating, and management. Additionally, the dashboard and performance work well."
"It eliminated the management of 10 different individual discrete RADIUS servers."
"I would rate the stability a nine out of ten."
"We are able to satisfy many different organizational needs because of its flexibility."
"What I like most about Aruba ClearPass is its access tracker that serves as its monitoring feature. The access tracker is really helpful when you want to troubleshoot authentication failures."
"Access Tracker is invaluable for troubleshooting access control incidents and quickly getting to the root cause."
"Gives us network access control, visibility, scalability, security, and control in what is becoming an uncontrollable, inundated BYOD and IoT world."
"This solution has a much lower rate of false positives compared to competing products."
"Tenable Security Center scans networks and gives reports."
"Tenable.sc's best features are the availability model, accident management, and scoring."
"Tenable also helps us to focus resources on the vulnerabilities that are most likely to be exploited. And since it is continuously updated, it allows us to reevaluate quickly if there are new vulnerabilities found..."
"The usability is really good. It's very easy to use and a good platform. It is scalable and very stable. The technical support is fine and the setup is super easy."
"The most valuable features in Tenable SC are scanning and analysis."
"I find Tenable SC to be a very scalable product."
"Very customizable with a lot of templates."
"The initial setup phase of the solution was really very difficult, owing to which the setup phase can be considered as an area that can be improved."
"Like most security products, ClearPass is difficult to deploy. You need to use the CLI to implement security products from any vendor, so configuring the authentication is complicated."
"What needs improvement in Aruba ClearPass is just the endpoint context server, in particular, the indication with the context server because sometimes the daily process isn't as smooth-sailing. Sometimes, the information isn't up-to-date. I'm not sure if that's a vendor limitation, but currently, it's the only tricky part of the current configuration. What I'd like to see in the next release of Aruba ClearPass is a dashboard or a monitoring feature that would allow users to see the integration process with an external server because there's no visibility into that right now."
"Aruba ClearPass has a complex pricing scheme, so that's an area for improvement. The process for setting up Aruba ClearPass also needs improvement. It could be easier."
"TLS authentication onboarding in Aruba ClearPass needs to be improved. The biggest problem we've seen in our environment is Huawei not being able to get onto Google Play. No Huawei device can be onboarded via Aruba ClearPass easily."
"Some functions could be improved."
"After HP, their support is the worst."
"Aruba ClearPass could improve when it comes to troubleshooting, it can be difficult. Some advanced problems are difficult."
"The solution should include compliance-based scanning."
"Support could be faster."
"The web application is not very functional."
"The solution is expensive."
"A good plugin editor would be a good additional option for the Security Center."
"The product should provide risk-based vulnerability management."
"The GUI could be improved to have all concerns and priorities use the same GUI, allowing them to see all tickets, assign vulnerabilities, and assign variation failures to each member of their team."
"The reporting side can be improved. The dashboards are nice, but exporting things out for reports for management was a little tough."
