Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's a security posture management tool from AWS. Basically, it identifies misconfigurations, similar to Trusted Advisor but on a larger scale.""The solution shows us our compliance score.""I really like the seamless integration with the AWS account structure. It can even be made mandatory as part of the landing zone. These are great features. And there's a single pane of glass for the entire account.""Cloudposse is a valuable feature as it guarantees my security.""The platform has valuable features for security.""Easily integrates with third-party tools""The best feature of AWS Security Hub is that you can get compliance or your cloud's current security posture.""Very good at detection and providing real-time alerts."

"The ability to drill down to individual hosts on an account and see which ones are affected is valuable.""We really liked its ease of implementation against our Microsoft Azure environment.""It provides critical insights that enable the IT team to plan and launch smart investigations when there are security breaches.""The system has deployed security tools to enhance effective investigations in the entire company networking system.""The posture management and remediation features are the most valuable. We use GSL Builder to build custom rules in alignment with our organization's policies. CloudGuard has canned rules using multiple standard frameworks, but we also have additional rules.""The various CNAPP modules have granted more visibility of our cloud applications to our system engineers and developers.""It is easy to administer and easy to deploy. It has automated or pre-configured templates, security features, and proactive threat detection.""The most valuable feature is the separate environment."

Cons
"One aspect that could be improved in the solution is its adaptability to different markets and geopolitical restrictions. In certain regions like Thailand, specific services from certain countries or providers, such as AWS or Azure, might be limited or blocked. It also needs improvement in would require configuring the solution more adaptable to AWS infrastructure and function.""The support must be quicker.""It's not user-friendly. Too much going on, too many unnecessary findings, not very visual. You can't do much compared to other similar tools that are cheaper and better.""Whenever my team gets some alarms from the central team, my team needs to initiate whether it's a real or false trigger. The central team needs to keep adjusting to the parameters or at least the concerned IPs, whether it's really from the company's pool of IPs, so the trigger process can be improved. In the next release of AWS Security Hub, I'd like a better dashboard that could result in better alert visibility.""The solution lacks self-sufficiency.""From an improvement perspective, there is a need to add more compliance since, right now, AWS Security Hub only provides four to five compliances to control the tool.""AWS Security Hub's configuration and integration are areas where it lacks and needs to improve.""We need more granular-level customizations to enable or disable the rules in AWS Security Hub."

"Scalability, particularly in workload protection, is an area that needs improvement.""Currently, I would like this solution extended to cellular devices or tablets.""Their service needs improvement.""No improvements are needed.""You do need to pay extra in order to get better support.""The dashboard customization has room for improvement.""The product must provide different features like antivirus.""Reporting should have more options."

  • "AWS Security Hub's pricing is pretty reasonable."
  • "There are multiple subscription models, like yearly, monthly, and packaged."
  • "AWS Security Hub is not an expensive tool. I would consider it to be a cheap solution. AWS Security Hub follows the PAYG pricing model, meaning you will have to pay for whatever you use."
  • "Security Hub is not an expensive solution."

  • "They support either annual licensing or hourly. At the time of our last negotiation, it was either one or the other, you could not mix or match. I would have liked to mix/match. "
  • "I would advise taking into account the existing number of devices and add a forecast of the number of devices to be added in the coming year or two, to obtain better pricing."
  • "It is a very straightforward licensing model that is based on the number of assets you are discovering and managing with the solution."
  • "The licensing and costs are straightforward, as they have a baseline of 100 workloads (number of instances) within one license with no additional nor hidden charges. If you want to have 200 workloads under Dome9, then you need to take out two licenses for that. Also, it does not have any impact on cloud billing, as data is shared using the API call. This is well within the limit of free API calls provided by the cloud provider."
  • "I suggest that you pay attention to the product pricing because while there are no tricks, and the licensing model is transparent, the final numbers may surprise you."
  • "Right now, we have licenses on 500 machines, and they are not cheap."
  • "The pricing is tremendous and super cheap. It is shockingly cheap for what you get out of it. I am happy with that. I hope that doesn't get reported back and they increase the prices. I love the pricing and the licensing makes sense. It is just assets: The more stuff that you have, the more you pay."
  • "Licensing and costs are straightforward, as they have a baseline of 100 workloads within one license and no additional charges."
