Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"With the combination of 24/7 global support and their community, there was great customer service, tech support, and community support.""My favourite feature of BOARD is the ability to write back to the OLAP DB, as well as the Rdb, and secure user data allowing databases to be flushed and rebuilt daily.""The ease of being able to get the data into BOARD is what makes it nice for people with a semi-IT background.""A lot of flexibility from the data modeling standpoint. It can add specific line items into our budget, for example, or if we want to make changes to the data model itself, we have that flexibility.""We have better reporting and have been able to better track performance.""The drill down is good for people who have that high level view, because they can do some analysis based on it.""The aesthetics of it are really nice. That is what attracted us to BOARD: the ease and functionality of it.""The tool seems to have a lot of ways to handle scaling."

"The most valuable feature of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is ad hoc reporting.""It gives you an end-to-end solution from integrating data from the source system to reporting. So it's a highly recommended tool.""Beneficial analysis and easy to do management adjustments.""The most valuable features of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud are the many capabilities it provides.""The workforce, the cube database, is the most valuable feature where you do planning for your headcounts.""The most valuable feature is the data integration in Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud.""We previously used Oracle EDS, and when comparing it to this solution, this solution has a much better interface. There are lots of advantages of the new solutions. Having it on the cloud, we are able to forget about keeping them updated or taking care of the database. We have minimal maintenance.""Once you do the budget in Oracle ERP, you can upload it, but it's easier to create and manage budgets in the Oracle budgeting tool itself. For example, if you have a shortfall in the budget, it's easier to manage that and the forms, too, especially if you also have Oracle Forms Management. You can get the forms from somewhere and then transform those forms into budget heads."

Cons
"Building similar models entirely from scratch could be made quicker with transfer abilities between databases and capsules.""I would like to see a better Web client, where the controls work the same way as in the Windows client. I do think that the focus is now on the Web, so it should be improved upon.""It needs more export to Excel functionality. Right now, we're having to build within the cloud-based platform, as well as build within the Excel add-in, because the export to Excel is somewhat ugly.""It would be huge in the future if BOARD offered a lot more graphs and presentations, and it was a lot easier to use.""It can have more functionality for narrative reporting. They should also improve their training courses, which are currently very lightweight. When you get into more complex things, it is quite difficult to figure out what you're supposed to do, and you have to look at a lot of videos before you actually understand, which is a bit frustrating. Their training can be more comprehensive.""We can't delete entities and cubes in Boards because it interrupts our whole data model.""The setup was a bit complex.""What could be better is the manual... nowadays, most people use a web client, but on the Board manual website, a lot of the information is only about the Windows client. If they could update that, it would be helpful."

More Board Cons →

"Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud could improve. There are times when the forms are slow in saving and calculating.""One potential improvement would be a more visual workflow, as the current method using a tax list is not as effective.""There is middleware that we need to purchase for our use case that should be provided in Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud. We should not have to purchase the additional solution and the integration should be seamless.""Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud could improve by having better integration with some other modules that we would add to this solution.""The FR recording studio that is used to build reports is clunky and awful to use. This could be improved a lot. The solution does have problems and limitations.""The tool's interface is outdated. However, OneStream is easier to navigate.""There are some issues with block creation in the memory. Sometimes, when we run a calculation and a new intersection is hit during the calculation, the memory block doesn't get created, which doesn't give the correct result.""For HR, the workforce planning out of the box is complicated. For most users, it's not easy, and it requires a learning curve. It's not very user-friendly. It can be improved."
