We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most useful feature of Juniper Wireless AP is the reporting Marvis.""Overall, we've been very pleased with the performance.""It provides private network access, helping us protect our company’s devices.""The AI capabilities of Mist Wireless are superior to other OEMs.""The simplicity is great.""The solution is stable.""The most valuable feature of the solution is Marvis, the AI-driven network management system.""Juniper Mist offers valuable features like comprehensive network insight, granular policy control, fast device setup, strong security, and efficient SSL traffic management."

"The product is user-friendly and helps with cost minimization.""They all have controllers built in, and we manage them all with a web-based management tool.""We can scale it if we need to.""It provides good support remotely, and it's very easy to configure.""The most valuable features of the solution are its range and stability.""What I like best about Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is that it's easy to configure, has no licensing hassle, and is a controller-based solution.""The web-based administration is what I find most beneficial.""It offers features that are essential for an efficient and high-performance wireless LAN deployment, where capacity, coverage, and quality are optimized, and frequency bands are selected based on the specific needs of the network."

"I now have the ability to remote access my network. That works extremely well. I can access it from any place. I don't need to be physically at the device. This saves me on time and travel.""I am all about simplicity. With the Insight management solution, I don’t need an additional cloud controller, appliance, network manager, or PC/server to configure and manage my access points. You have to look at cost, and everything has a cost. There is a cost to using Insight. But if the cost is reasonable, I don't want another layer. The ability to deploy a network and then have that software built-in, without having to go to a third-party, is big. Also, the less pieces that I have to call in on, the better. So, when I'm calling NETGEAR, it's not like I'm using some third-party piece of software to manage their product. It doesn't add that layer of complexity, which is key.""We use NETGEAR's Insight management solution to do off-property controls. It is user-friendly and provides network management, monitoring, and service deployment across multiple remote and local sites. That means I don't have to be physically at a location to do things if I want to make any changes to the network. It saves time and money.""The meshing capabilities are the most valuable feature. When I am going in-between buildings, my phone doesn't have to pick up different WiFi. They are all the same. Even in-between the buildings, I stay connected.""The internet connectivity is good.""Our company sometimes uses the solution's technical support, and we have seen that they sort out our general problems quickly.""From the WiFi aspect, it's very intuitive and easy to use. The solution enables me to manage my entire WiFi from anywhere in the world...""The metrics demonstrate that NETGEAR really does a good job of balancing the load between the various access points on the networks and this results in an elimination of downtime."

Cons
"They should include SD-WAN features to it.""Improving third-party integration is key for Juniper Mist's next release.""Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points’ support services need improvement.""Improvement is needed in the user-friendliness of Juniper Mist, particularly in enhancing the interaction with AI features.""The pricing should be made cheaper.""There is room for improvement in terms of support and installation.""The solution is expensive.""Enrolling into the tool is a tedious process."

"We would like this product to have more information data sheets available. At present we cannot easily access details around the full capability of a piece of equipment.""The problem with this radio wireless technology is that it cannot compete in terms of bandwidth with the fiber optics at this moment. That's the biggest weakness.""The platform's cost needs improvement.""What could be improved in Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is its efficiency in large areas because we noticed that there's a need to increase the APs in large rooms or spaces for the Wi-Fi to be more efficient. Another area for improvement in Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is bandwidth management. This is a feature that Meraki has that allows you to control user bandwidth, so my company has a pilot project to test Meraki Wireless LAN. Bandwidth control is an additional feature I'd like to see in Cambium Networks Wireless LAN as that would make the solution better.""The capacity and coverage could be improved.""The solution should be scalable, offering better pricing options as we optimize the network for coverage, capacity, and quality""Our areas for improvement would be a refresh with the most recent technology available.""The product pricing needs improvement."

More Cambium Networks Wireless LAN Cons →

"Software-wise, they need to provide the ability to kick users out. If multiple users are abusing the system or the network, I should be able to block them for a time and, when I need to unblock them, I should be able to do so by using their MAC ID. That feature might already be there and I just don't know about it.""There is always room for improvement.""My major problem is right now, the area which I need to cover is around 7,000 to 10,000 square feet...I would like NETGEAR Insight Access Points to extend the area coverage they provide.""A con is the backend system which is very, very slow.""The product's UI needs to be simplified and made more straightforward.""While the data throughput does provide us with full insight into data being used, we find that it's not very accurate.""The biggest issue I've had is that it works very well with the WiFi, but it does not offer any assistance at all with the routers. You can't control them or manage them at all. As soon as you want to use anything on the network side—because I have multiple 28-port switches—you can't manage them using this app.""Due to certain shortcomings in the solution's stability, I feel that the solution's stability requires improvement."

  • "High-end products from Cambium PTP, point-to-point radio, maybe cost around $1000 per year."
  • "It's a good price, but not the best price. It's on the higher end of what I would call affordable for small to medium-sized businesses."
  • "The pricing for Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is much cheaper than Meraki. For example, I have to pay $200 for one AP from Cambium, while for a Meraki AP, I have to pay $450 including the user license. Meraki has a higher price over Cambium Networks Wireless LAN."
  • "In general, the way we purchased it was we purchased it at the beginning, was with five years of support, once our initial cost was met, we didn't have to pay for anything else."
  • "The licensing costs for this solution are calculated per asset, and depending on the model of the equipment, it starts at $230, and goes up to roughly $1,200. The benefit of this solution is that there are no hidden costs; no cost for managing the equipment, and no cost for maintaining the equipment during its usable lifetime."
  • "Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is cheaper than Aruba."
  • "I would place it in the mid-range market segment, balancing affordability and profitability."
  • "I rate the product's pricing an eight out of ten."

  • "Price-wise, it is a little too high, about $20 higher than what it should be, but it's worth it. It's cheaper than Cisco's access point, but the products are not apples to apples."
  • "It wasn't much more than 100 dollars a year. For the devices that we have, the pricing was pretty fair."
  • "The pricing seems to be reasonable."
  • "For what you get, the price of Insight access points is very reasonable."
  • "Their pricing is perfect for smaller businesses who are money and budget conscious. There are a lot of other solutions out there that are two to three times more expensive."
  • "I can source the stuff pretty quickly wherever I go through the distributor. There is pricing available at NETGEAR if you can spend between $2,000 and $5,000 on a solution. So, there is special pricing that they can help with. The vendor's reps are very responsive. They have a good channel system."
  • "It is an expensive solution."
  • "My company does not need to pay anything related to the solution's licensing costs."
