We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The flexibility characteristic in a BPMS, through BPMN and DMN, is undoubtedly the most interesting feature for our business.""I can use any other tools to create services and the UI, and then use them together with the Camunda BPMN engine.""The number of client implementations and cross-language capabilities to support multiple frameworks is very pluggable compared to Pega. It's also more portable.""It is open-source. It supports microservice orchestration. This is what we are really interested in. We can customize our products depending on the use cases.""The solution is easily compatible with HTML forms and HTML language programming and that is the most significant part.""We can easily define and deploy business processes. Camunda provides the tools that allow business people to design business processes. We don't have to have developers for it. It is so easy to use that our business people can go into the tool and model their business processes. We get time to do other things than just designing business processes.""The modeler is useful for creating the flow. The way to access the data through their REST API is also valuable. This is what we're using right now.""When I compare it with other BPM tools, like IBM, it is great, open source, and free when you use the community version."

"It's probably the best product out there.""Employee onboarding, de-boarding, and other service-provision features make the process easier and it saves us a lot of time.""Great with IT processes and business processes.""It's scalable.""This is a user-friendly solution where scripts can be made with ease. There are also many integration options, including Microsoft products, which gives the product a competitive edge.""The interface of the solution is very user friendly and it is easily accessible via a simple URL. This makes it easier to complete the UI based tasks but using other features require expertise in languages like Java. But along with that, there are limitation in terms of network connectivity testing and administrator faces regular challenges in conducting connectivity tests due to these limitations.""The data visualization is good.""Orchestration is commonly utilized by major corporations. The process of linking methods in ServiceNow, known as the RTS chain to parent methods, is executed seamlessly and efficiently. It's quite impressive and significant in its impact."

Cons
"When building interfaces, there are limited tools to work with, especially when dealing with different types of tasks, such as user tasks and system tasks.""The product's initial setup phase is difficult for beginners.""They have a migration plugin that can be used to migrate from one BPM to another BPM. It is in the beta stage since last year. If they can make it available in the market, it would be great. We are going to have a couple of migration projects for migrating from IBM BPM to Camunda, and this plugin would be useful. I have already discussed this with them two weeks ago and asked them to look into this and add it as a feature. We are expecting this plugin to be available in the next version. This is the only requirement we have at present. They keep on coming up with different features, which is helping us a lot. Its latest release that came out last month was awesome.""I would like to have a feature for audit logging, audit logs and audit log management. And some history of use for the audit logs.""I would say that Camunda should actually focus on small cases as well. There's a lot of space out there, for small businesses. If they can, they should cater to them.""Documentation can be improved.""The product does not have a dictionary.""In the future, I would like to see better transactional integrity."

More Camunda Cons →

"The automatic remediation needs enhancement, particularly integrating ServiceNow with tools like SolarWinds and Logic Monitor. It is functional, but it needs improvement.""Frequent upgrades may negatively impact the performance of instances. Therefore, for now, I don't recommend any additional upgrades.""From my space, the only thing that I can say is the spinning up with Google Cloud Services.""The flow rate for releases and updates is very, very slow and does not meet customers' objectives for scalability.""I would like a user experience module to be added.""We cannot perform GUI automation using the tool.""Efficiency of some features could be improved.""There is still room for more integrations. Or, it would be nice to bundle multiple products together rather than selling everything as a model as that turns out to be a bit costly."

  • More Camunda Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "In terms of price, this solution is at the higher end of what you'll find."
  • "This is an expensive product, but it is the best in the market considering the features and lack of competitors."
  • "ServiceNow doesn't give a clear cost indication. They have different contracts with different organizations and it's all about negotiation, so you don't know how they are doing at the cost level."
  • "The solution is costly and orchestrations are very expensive."
  • "It is quite expensive because we've had some customers come back and say it's quite pricey because in order for them to go ahead with Orchestration, they must have already been paying for Discovery, service mapping, and a few other things."
  • "The cost of the solution is based on the number of plugins, conductors and integrations used and is charged annually. The licensing cause has been increasing gradually which makes it difficult to access. Initially offer free features but over the time the charges rise which make it an expensive solution with limited features. Along with that, the integration issues persist and require additional middle where and internet connectivity for effective usage."
  • "It is not very expensive."
