We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Navigating through the data to make analysis is really quick.""The tool is flexible.""A lot of the platform is in-memory, so Planning Analytics can run calculations quite fast. It also offers several user interfaces. And in the newest version of Planning Analytics, there is a new one called the Planning Analytics Workspace. Maybe it could be useful for the business side.""The flexibility of IBM Planning Analytics is a great feature of this solution. The design flexibility with data rules and defining calculations The ability to combine online and offline calculations are a benefit. Additionally, the forecasting features and predictive analytics is very good.""It's a very stable, robust product.""IBM Planning Analytics is easy to use and deploy. It is quick to develop. The calculation machine is also very fast.""The product's stability is good.""The most valuable features of IBM Planning Analytics for streamlining planning processes include a unified database where all data are centralized."

"It integrates with all of the Microsoft tools.""I liked that Microsoft Power BI handles a large amount of data. I can handle hundreds of rows from Postgres in a few minutes. I also like how it detects the relationship between the tables without explicitly saying that. It just detects the relationship automatically. That made it easier to work with the data.""We have a lot of servers and applications from which we want reports, and it allows us to create reports from an SQL source or some other source.""Microsoft BI's initial setup is very straightforward.""The solution is easy to set up and implement.""The most valuable features in Microsoft BI are the analysis using the feature drag and drop function. It's very easy to load and use different data sources.""It integrates better with other Microsoft products. It is very easy to use and has very powerful visualizations. It has also got a lot of development going on.""The most valuable features of Microsoft BI are its intuitiveness and ease to use."

Cons
"Extracting data is a little slow.""The tool should include features for prediction. It can also improve the scalability.""It's wonky, and not super user-friendly with Excel.""Planning Analytics could be improved by adding automation features.""It is a bit expensive, but it does the job.""It's highly competitive right now, and all the vendors are in a race to put out new versions with additional features. IBM comes out with new versions too often, and it has an impact on quality.""The dashboard is very poor and needs a lot of improvement.""The tool's transport layer could be improved when promoting development between environments."

"Microsoft has made a lot of progress with Power BI in the past couple of years, but there is still some room for improvement. For example, Integration is one area they could work on. They are adding more integration with other Microsoft tools, but I would like it if they sped up the process.""Integrating it with the physics build model or the engineering model should be included.""A lot of people work on Excel, so being able to export an Excel file as part of a subscription would be an improvement.""The DAX features need some improvement. It's not as easy as Excel. They need more DAX formulas.""The default parameters of the prompt could be improved by including a dynamic option.""It's not really complicated, but I didn't find the things I was looking for. The ones I used to work with within Dash are more open, and there are more choices. But with Power BI, there are only limited types of plots that I can use. For example, when I wanted to put the plots in Power BI, there was no extendable space. You have a limited page where you can place a maximum of three plots in that, and you can't do more than that on a single page. You have to create a new page, a different page for that. That made it a bit annoying, and the filtering part is limited, with basic functions. If you want to make custom filtering or custom functions, you can't do that.""The reporting needs to be improved.""We haven't used it that long and I haven't come across anything that's stood out as needing to be fixed."
