We performed a comparison between Informatica MDM and Reltio Cloud based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Cloud Master Data Management (MDM) Solutions solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."I like that Informatica MDM has robust matching technology. Informatica MDM is also porting the external Java applications for validations. I can consider that a must-have. It is also exposed to Rest API calls, and we can engage in real-time integrations with any third-party systems."
"The most valuable features of Informatica MDM are the IDQ and RDM data management."
"The ability to clean out data and improve the data quality is the best feature."
"This is where I think MDM shines - with its strong fuzzy matching algorithm. This is the essence of Informatica MDM. Based on these results, I can write our match conditions and then perform the corresponding data management activities."
"The valuable feature is that we can automate the integration part...It is a stable solution."
"Informatica MDM stands out as a tool that can give you the flexibility needed for doing channel-specific data quality or business validation."
"It is easy to create REST-based interfaces of the master data objects."
"Informatica MDM has a defined data model we can customize with user and developer options."
"The survivorship feature is great because we can define it, prioritize the sources, and only allow those sources to survive when making the golden record."
"The most valuable feature is real-time synchronization. You can see the events as soon as they are posted within a couple of fraction seconds."
"If I compare it with other MDM solutions in the market, one thing that can definitely be improved is automation to help with the configuration. Currently, when we are creating any staging of base object tables, all the columns have to be configured manually in the Informatica Hub Console. A lot of tables and different kinds of business columns have to be configured manually. There should be an automated process for this, especially in the Dev environment. When people are creating tables and columns from scratch, if there is a backend automated process for that, it would be really helpful. In Stibo, a similar feature is there wherein you can tag attributes to certain objects. It would be helpful if Informatica also provides a similar option. It would reduce the manual effort. It could be that such a feature is already there, but I am not aware of it."
"We currently have issues with real-time integration."
"The UI is terrible and not user-friendly."
"This is a costly solution. We have several customers who evaluate it but then look for other solutions because of the cost. At present, Informatica MDM comes as an on-premises or cloud-based solution. I would like to see them offer a SaaS-based MDM model. I think they are working on it."
"I think everything related to the APIs and the manageability of the APIs in Informatica MDM are areas where improvements are required."
"The advertising makes promises about data analytics that it does not keep."
"New machine learning could be added to Informatica MDM because the solution is outdated and is not moving with the current trends. The solution is good, but it definitely needs a lot of improvement and needs to speed up as per the market."
"We promote our code changes from a lower to a higher environment, which is highly complex when working with a multi-domain MDM like Informatica. This is the biggest obstacle for Informatica MDM, and I think they should change it because that's very time consuming."
"Reltio Cloud could be improved in two specific areas. Firstly, the API capability needs to be enhanced, as when utilizing the REST API and posting a significant amount of data, there are multiple rejections from the MDM side. This can be due to the MDM server not responding or being unable to process the request. Therefore, I suggest that the API capacity should be increased to handle larger amounts of data. Additionally, I have noticed that the response time from the servers can take up to a minute or a few seconds, which can be improved for a faster response time."
"Sometimes, the service goes down for maintenance or when we run a lot of jobs so things get pushed to the queue and results don't get delivered on time."

I cannot offer insight into the licensing policy of each vendor as they are very varied and indeed can change deal to deal. Oracle for instance might give you limited database license if you use it specifically for MDM - but will audit you and bill you for full use even if you add one custom table! What it also means is that if are going with the big ones - you can negotiate!!
I can, however, help you with key MDM requirements as defined by Gartner.
-Workflow/BPM,
-Loading/synchronization/business services/integration (which is basically ETL) - but it gives you the ability to implement in different styles - centralized, registry, co-existence, consolidation
-Information quality, semantic consistency : this is for DQ capability and survivorship
-data modeling - strength based on metadata management, policy enforcement, dating and versioning
-Stewardship support (such as 360 degree view, where used, decay analysis, ownership)
-Governance (a combination of a lot of the above really)
-multiple use cases (Operational and analytical) - here you can use ERP/PLM/CRM as operational examples and APS and DWH as analytical use cases.
- multi domain (product, customer, supplier, account, HR, location, person) - Tricky, as many vendors including Oracle claim to be multi domain - but they do not use a single framework to manage multiple domains - that is really not multi domain because the CDO's office still needs to manage multiple frameworks and the cost of ownership is very high.
- data quality dashboards
- Task management (Advanced)
- multi device support
