We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most useful feature of Avalanche is remote control — especially the ability to remotely install packages to many devices all at once. When the client has, for example, 100 devices needing updates, it would take far too long to update each device individually. But with Avalanche, we just connect to all the devices through the PC and send the updates out with one click.""The terminal remediation feature is valuable.""Installing the packages remotely and remote control are the most valuable features. There are around 100 pieces or devices, and the only way to send a package to a device is by connecting to the PC and then manually sending the package. By using Avalanche, we can send a package to all devices with one click. It is very stable and easy to use. Their technical support is also very good. We have implemented this solution for our clients, and they are satisfied with this solution. It does what it is meant to do.""It is a very easy-to-manage and granular policy-based solution. Policies that you can create per device per user behavior are the most valuable feature.""The solution is easy to work with. I like its stability and flexibility.""The most valuable features of the Ivanti Avalanche are the remote control and the file transfer."

"We have not experienced any bugs or glitches with this solution.""A great solution for anyone wanting a modern endpoint device management solution.""For our office workers who are not based in Norway, when we order the PC, we can do some of the settings for them. These are standardized settings. We can set them up exactly as they are in Norway so that they're the same.""We have a BYOD policy, and this solution helps us manage our devices.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is having all our devices compliant with our policies.""It helps implement conditional access policies to restrict mobile users from accessing potentially dangerous emails.""Microsoft Endpoint Manager is not expensive overall, especially for small environments.""Stable product that's easy to set up compared to other MDM products."

Cons
"The solution can improve by adding a kiosk mode option to the devices.""The tool's stability could be better.""In future releases, I would like to see more automation or bringing in AI into to understand device behavior.""Its price could be improved. It could be cheaper. I would like to see a better approach for Android and an easy way to send packages and manage devices.""Because our clients are all very satisfied with Ivanti from their side, there is little I can say about room for improvement. However, I think that to stay competitive with other solutions offering a similiar solution, Ivanti could look into making their products more affordable.""There is a lack of flexibility."

More Ivanti Avalanche Cons →

"In the past, I raised some tickets for the enhancement feature, which was missing in Intune.""The Mac integration has room for improvement.""The security features should be improved.""Reporting in Microsoft solutions is pathetic. With Intune, I'm getting a free inventory tool, but I don't get a reporting tool. When I go to Intune, I can see one machine's entire data in terms of the hardware and the software running on it, but I cannot generate a report for all the machines in the organization. The reporting is the only feature holding back the functionality that is already there.""We need the capabilities of the Cloud Management Gateway (CMG) to be enhanced through Intune instead of Azure.""There should be more support for macOS. Even though macOS is supported by Intune and Microsoft is working very hard to get more features into Intune to manage macOS, that's one thing they can give a lot more attention to.""There is no catalog for mobile access management (MAM) security.""There are a few security features that are not available in Microsoft Intune, when compared to other products."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Other than the standard licensing fee, there aren't any additional or hidden costs, although I believe Avalanche could be made more affordable in general."
  • "It is expensive. Its price could be cheaper."
  • "Although the solution is a bit costly in my opinion, for customers who really need this solution, Ivanti Avalanche is worth it."
  • "You will need to purchase licenses for each device."
  • "The license is based on assets. I would rate the pricing a six out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."

  • "Consider the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite rather than choosing specific sub-components, e.g. only Microsoft Intune."
  • "There is a cost benefit of using Microsoft Intune because of the packaging with other Microsoft products."
  • "Microsoft Intune is a cost effective choice. It is less expensive than other products on the market."
  • "The purchase of the product was handled by someone else."
  • "I have no comment on pricing of the solution."
  • "The product is offered as part of a Microsoft standard bundle. The pricing can be competitive to Airwatch, and Maas360."
  • "For Microsoft 365 E5 clients, cost is not an issue as this product is one of the benefits."
  • "The price of Intune is included with the license for Office 365, so we don't have to pay anything extra for it."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
