We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's an ideal gateway solution for small and medium businesses, i.e., around 300 devices can be easily handled.""The solution has good performance."

"The most valuable feature is being able to securely connect and use virtual desktops.""It's quite stable.""Pulse Connect Secure is a stable solution.""VPN tunneling is a very valuable feature of Pulse Connect Secure. I also like that it is straightforward to use, and you can see traffic logs on it.""What I like the most about Pulse Connect Secure is that it's user-friendly. It's easy to use. You just need to connect, and that's it.""This is a very secure and stable tool.""The initial setup is straightforward.""The tool's most valuable feature is remote access."

"The initial setup is pretty straightforward.""One of the most valuable features of SonicWall Netextender is the integration of VPN accounts with Microsoft Identity Management, which enables us to enforce secure access through Microsoft Intune and conditional access policies. This helps ensure that only authorized individuals are able to access the VPN, rather than anyone with knowledge of a password.""The initial setup is pretty easy.""My company opted for this solution because it can individually perform. Basically, we don't require load balancers and all those additional feature sets or additional devices that might be required. The solution can handle the certificate, DNS queries, and all that stuff individually.""NetExtender works very well. I never had an issue with it, and it has been working well for me. In terms of management, you have good control over the destination. You can use NetExtender to set the policy and the static route for a client. You can modify it based on what your client needs or can access. You have good control over routing.""The solution provides high availability.""The most valuable feature for the Netextender is the ease with which we can integrate it with SAML.""It allows us to work remotely."

Cons
"There must be a more easy-to-use GUI."

More Netgate TNSR Cons →

"Setup is complex. A few users had some issues with it.""We need to know how many live active users there are and we can't. We even updated the server, however, we still can't see the proper level of live connections. Right now, it's showing as 300 users and my customer does not have that many users in his organization.""There is room for improvement. I'm concerned about the frequent vulnerabilities identified. As a security product, the number of vulnerabilities is concerning.""User experience and after-sales support could be better. For example, over the last couple of years, when this COVID scenario was going on, there were multiple attacks on these types of solutions. SQL has been attacked numerous times, and there were a lot of vulnerabilities, and our customers had to update and upgrade the devices every two weeks or every month. This was a headache. It could also be more scalable.""An area for improvement in Pulse Connect Secure is the concurrent connections, particularly needing a license if you want to use Pulse Connect Secure with your Microsoft or Windows machine.""At the moment, Pulse Connect Secure is a pretty good solution, and I don't see any issues with it. Currently, I'm not aware of a new or additional feature that's needed in Pulse Connect Secure, but it would be good if the team could look at how the speed of connection could be increased. Though it's quite seamless and I didn't face any problem with the speed, it would be better to improve the speed and keep going forward, especially as the industry's changing and people would love connections to be a lot faster.""The most valuable features of Pulse Connect Secure are the user-friendly connection and interconnecting.""Ivanti Connect Secure needs to have faster connections. It also needs to improve the stability."

More Ivanti Connect Secure Cons →

"The product does not work well.""The solution takes up a lot of bandwidth.""SonicWall can be difficult for some people, but I don't find it difficult. Some companies provide a VPN client for free, but you have to pay for NetExtender.""The initial setup of SonicWall Netextender is straightforward. The only issue we encountered was with relocating the VPN appliance. If we needed to move it from an on-premise to an on-cloud architecture, we had to start over and redeploy it from scratch. Unfortunately, it is not portable and any changes to its physical location often result in the need for a fresh deployment to ensure everything functions properly.""Right now, you have to load each license on to an appliance. You can't pool across multiple appliances. So, you end up having to do a lot of administrative work to recover if an internet provider goes down, and you cannot leverage it as easily into a DR solution.""The only concern I do have is with the zero trust, and the solution is not coping with the newer technologies as much as it needs to do on that particular factor.""The UI could be a little better.""They need to rewrite the software to make it a usable product."

  • "The price of Pulse Connect Secure is expensive."
  • "A license is required for you to use Pulse Connect Secure, but I'm not aware of how much it costs."
  • "The pricing for Pulse Connect Secure is not low and not high, so it's good. It's a six out of ten for me, price-wise."
  • "Pulse Connect Secure is relatively cost-effective."
  • "I rate the product price a six to seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price."

  • "After a certain number of users, you require extra licensing."
  • "You have to pay for its license. There are some other companies that provide a VPN client for free. When you buy NetExtender, its license is available for one, three, or five years."
  • "Cost wise, it would be a few hundred dollars for the base appliance with the first five clients. Then from there, your cost per seat depends on how many you're getting. It's a one-time cost, and then you have a few hundred dollars a year for the maintenance contract once you get the one-time seat costs out of the way."
  • "The price of SonicWall Netextender is reasonable. Whether it's a small shop with only five users or a larger operation with 130 users, we have received no complaints or objections regarding cost from any of the clients we are looking to deploy it with."
  • "The solution has a pretty good price."
  • "The solution is cheap itself, not too costly."
