Pros
"The single dashboard is a valuable feature.""We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."

"Monitoring is the most valuable feature of this solution.""The most valuable feature is the monitoring alerts. The administrators are immediately notified and can do the required action immediately. This is the feature we value and use the most.""I liked Network Configuration Manager. They had some pretty decent features there, and they also had pretty good monitoring and alerts.""Defining thresholds and other alerting criteria is fairly simple and would not require a lot of training. This is very useful if you are managing a large environment.""This is a good general monitoring system that has all the features we require and they constantly update with new capabilities.""Device monitoring is a good tool of this solution.""We don't have to keep an eye on it; it has a good automation option, which keeps us informed. It gives very less false positives. Overall, a really great product.""The traffic monitoring and the traffic analysis are great."

"For managing the traffic, it provides you a response about whether the traffic is down, up, or heavy, which is a very powerful feature. It has a good response time. We have been using this solution for many years, and we don't have any problem with this solution.""The performance analysis is a valuable feature. With the performance analyzer, we can see the realtime monitoring, the realtime performance, and historical performance on specific components like virtualization storage, CPU, servers and network equipment.""The most valuable feature is the ability to look for any increases in bandwidth over time so that we can plan before it becomes critical.""In terms of the implementation, we've actually used SAM, the server and application monitoring tools. The network configuration tools are very useful in terms of bulk upgrading switches and infrastructure. Also, the Network Traffic Analyzer was extremely useful to track down errant users soaking up bandwidth.""They have instructional videos and other information available on the site to assist you with learning it.""I like that it is able to monitor multiple devices and it's vendor-agnostic.""What people found most valuable in SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer is its report customization feature.""The dashboard alerts me when a critical device goes off the network."

Cons
"The technical support needs improvement.""The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Cons →

"What I'd like ManageEngine OpManager to improve on is artificial intelligence. In particular, the machine learning feature should be integrated with the sensor flow. Doing this will give leverage, especially when you look at other products such as the Cisco DNA Center. When a switch goes down, I should be able to build on the correlation of other physical devices it's connected to so that I can integrate that with my CA CMDB. The ManageEngine OpManager team needs to draw a long-term roadmap where that feature becomes an integral part of the solution because right now, machine learning in ManageEngine OpManager is a long process. The solution doesn't have MLS search and I want to see ML being developed and applied for CA CMDB to greatly reduce the burden of tying everything. For example, if I have a data center switch that goes down now, I should know what server it's connected to, and when that switch goes down at twenty-four ports, I would get twenty-four alerts for different devices plugged in. I should be able to make a correlation that the major problem lies in the switch and not with the twenty-four elements connected to that switch. That is where machine learning should come into play and the ManageEngine OpManager AI should indicate "This is where the root of your problem is." It could be difficult, but this is a feature that should be improved or added to the solution.""Real user and UI monitoring are not practical.""The dashboard could include more features.""They should add more features to URL monitoring.""There needs to be improvements to make the solution capable of supporting more devices, and it would be good to see an option for automatic deployment.""I would like to see more enhancements made to the product.""Needs an OVA, or more support for virtual deployments. Building a virtual instance of OpManager and OpManager Probe was a bit difficult because there was no OVA available.""The only problem with it is that the setup isn't very intuitive. I know that they just upgraded the product to make it a little bit easier to use, but compared to some of the other platforms, it is not easy to configure it, set it up, and get it running. However, once you have set it up and got it running, it runs great."

"An area for improvement in SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer is the dashboarding. The user interface also has room for improvement because it's currently clunky.""I would like to see more artificial intelligence capabilities.""I would like to see more training videos and additional material for learning how to use this solution.""It's not a cheap product, so the pricing could be improved.""One area that we struggle with is the price. Because the price of this solution is so high, we are largely unable to introduce it into the local market, and only the banking sector has the means to afford it.""The licensing should be more realistic so that we can adjust the number of nodes according to my needs, rather than in fixed increments.""If your network is on SolarWinds, and you notice that the traffic is bad because it says "user downloading a heavy file," it doesn't indicate which endpoint is downloading those heavy files. SolarWinds doesn't have the tools to be able to handle this kind of situation. You can just notice through your network device that the traffic is becoming overwhelming or heavy, but you cannot go inside and get more details related to the endpoint where it is happening. We would like SolarWinds to be able to handle this kind of situation and even manage the traffic inside a network from the endpoint to the network device. These would be good enhancements. It is mostly stable. The problem comes only when we want to add another SolarWinds model. SolarWinds has so many models, and sometimes when we want to add other models on the platforms that are reserved for our firm, it freezes. When this happens, we have to create a new VM for that model.""This solution does not do a very good job when I am trying to look deeper into my internal network, in particular with respect to individual ports."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "As far as cost, it was around six hundred thousand rands ($40,500) for the year, for the renewals. That's the total cost for a four thousand node system including support and maintenance."
  • "The licensing costs depend on the number of devices and accounts that are being monitored by the solution."
  • "The initial cost is low and the add-ons are reasonable."
  • "We had perpetual licenses. The cost was around 36,000 for OPManager, and then you'd have the yearly maintenance fee of 2,000 or 3,000."
  • "The licensing is on a yearly basis and the pricing is on the cheaper side."
  • "In terms of pricing, I would rate it a two out of five. It was expensive."
  • "ManageEngine OpManager has a three-tier licensing model."
  • "We have a standard license for ManageEngine OpManager. We purchased the license for one year and now we are upgrading it soon."

  • "For our environment, we pay approximately $25,000 USD yearly."
  • "The licensing for this solution is based on the number of nodes."
  • "The price of this solution is exceptional."
  • "While the pricing is fair, it could be better."
  • "The pricing is reasonable."
  • "We pay yearly, and we are happy with its price."
  • "We have licenses for SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer. In terms of pricing, its license is not that expensive versus other tools such as HP."
  • "Pricing for SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer is very high. I have a customer that needs the solution but doesn't have the budget for SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer because the problem is that you can't use the solution only. You have to buy requirements such as the SolarWinds NPM first, and some companies don't have the budget for all the required components and modules. SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer can cost up to $10,000, and some customers don't have that budget. Another product has all the modules that SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer has, with a very low price, that can be a replacement, which is ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer. PRTG is another solution that can replace SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer."
