Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution does a lot of coding and customization, and can go live quickly.""The stability has been excellent.""The most valuable features are the interface and customizability.""It's a flexible solution.""The solution is completely scalable.""We find that it is easy to integrate with other Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft Office.""Reduces work for our IT teams and saves us a lot of time.""Microsoft Azure has thousands of services and products."

"What I like the most is that we can convert databases into a proper multi-dimensional model, and then we can project with the integration with Power BI.""It is a scalable solution if you have a good cloud infrastructure.""The interface is easy to manage.""Fiori is the most valuable feature, as well as the the integration between S/4 and another solution as an extension.""We have a wide range of use cases for SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud. These include production planning, materials management, sales management, treasury, finance, appliance maintenance, real estate, and warehouse management.""Traditionally, SAP worked with Oracle databases, but SAP is getting rid of the other databases and promoting its own. SAP will stop support for other databases around 2026, so everyone is moving to SAP S/4HANA for the performance and because it's the preferred database for SAP. S/4HANA has new features from the front-end or application feature perspective. The idea is to move toward future-ready technology.""The most valuable feature is virtual modeling, which is beneficial because you don't really save the data multiple times the way we did in the past.""It has significantly streamlined our operations."

Cons
"The solution could improve by having more security features around my data and the platform.""The initial setup is quite complex because of the number of options that are available.""Predictability and quality. Make sure things work predictable, as expected, and documented.""The biggest area needing improvement involves the licensing cost.""The cost management and billing section features could be improved.""Microsoft Azure needs to be simplified to make it better understood for users.""Auto ML could be improved technically.""The process by which our customers can switch from one subscription to another should be simplified."

More Microsoft Azure Cons →

"The only thing that could be improved is the cost.""SAP support isn't on par with products like Microsoft Azure or AWS. It's nowhere close to the competitors.""They should probably offer more cloud services. Most of the cloud infrastructure providers we have make everything pretty transparent, you know what you're getting, you have all these metrics and measurements and everything in the dashboard. Here you have to go through the contracting negotiations and all those things.""The main thing is that SAP needs to give better response times for support tickets.""It needs improvement in terms of stability and performance.""The stability of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required.""The solution is scalable from an infrastructure point of view. However, it becomes more complex over time because technology is changing so fast.""The product must provide more details of the errors."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Related to pricing and licensing, you have to be careful how you operate with the concept."
  • "Be careful with Azure Cool storage accounts; if you are dealing with high object counts, then it can be more economical to use Hot storage because of the high storage access costs associated with Cool."
  • "Make use of Azure pricing calculator and you will find out that Azure Is still more reasonable that the competition and do your research, when unclear speak with your MS support."
  • "It’s necessary to use third party products or to use good self-management economic tools"
  • "Keep to PaaS to gain the optimal benefits from an OPEX finance and resource perspective."
  • "Several thousand dollars and counting, we haven't needed to upgrade on premises hardware (In fact we eliminated all of the old on-premises hardware and run 100% on Azure) or pay for it's maintenance, power etc."
  • "If you are not aware of costs, pricing, etc., you can end up with a hefty bill. However, I found that the Azure price calculator is a valuable tool to use before starting to deploy VMs in Azure. This tool will give you an overview of the costs you should expect on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis."
  • "Pricing is very difficult to guesstimate. With so many a la carte options and individual pricing it can be a hassle to understand."
  • More Microsoft Azure Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "If you choose the minimum, it will probably cost around $1,000 USD per month if you take a contract for a year or two."
  • "The licensing of the solution is on a yearly basis. The normal price of the solution is quite high, but I received a special discount by making a purchase near the end of the year."
  • "The solution could be less expensive."
  • "The price is expensive compared to the competition."
  • "The price is high compared to other databases, which is why HANA is still not widely used. Some enterprises prefer Sybase, Oracle, or other traditional databases because HANA is a little pricey. Cost is one factor SAP needs to work on to make it more competitive with other databases. Otherwise, they'll never be able to develop a mass customer base."
  • "Our pricing is based on a yearly contract."
  • "The pricing is reasonable when compared to other vendors like Oracle who offer technology enterprise resource software."
  • "The product itself is relatively expensive."

Amazon Web Services, Rackspace OpenStack, Microsoft Windows Azure and Google are the major cloud hosting and storage service providers. Athough Amazon is top of them and is oldest in cloud market, Rackspace, Microsoft and Google are giving tough competition to each other and to Amazon also for alluring IT customers. This article give brief history of these cloud hosting service providers and compares the cloud services provided by them. -- Amazon Web Services -- It's hard to find someone who doesn't agree that Amazon Web Services is the market leader in IaaS cloud computing. The company has one of the widest breadths of cloud services - including compute, storage, networking, databases, load balancers, applications and application development platforms all delivered as a cloud service. Amazon has dropped its prices 21 times since it debuted its cloud six years ago and fairly consistently fills whatever gaps it has in the size of virtual machine instances on its platform - the company recently rolled out new high-memory instances, for example. There are some cautions for Amazon though. Namely, its cloud has experienced three major outages in two years. One analyst, Jillian Mirandi of Technology Business Researcher, has suggested that continued outages could eventually start hindering businesses' willingness to invest in Amazon infrastructure. That sentiment gets to a larger point about AWS though - the service seems to be popular in the startup community, providing the IT… Read more →
