Pros
"The tool has impacted our company's network costs and productivity in a perfect manner and percentage-wise, I can say it is 120 percent.""It is easy to set up.""Some of the most valuable features are the simplicity, cost, usability, and power. As a package, it's extremely effective.""The most valuable feature is that it has better throughput than its competitors.""It is easy to set up the solution.""The GUI is easy to use.""There are a lot of features to control permitting or stopping packets in the network.""A valuable aspect is its user-friendly configuration, making it accessible even for individuals with basic technical knowledge."

"The interface and the duality are the solution's most valuable features.""The product’s most valuable features are stability and scalability.""The ability to deploy quickly and then having one central location for all the settings are its most valuable aspects.""Ubiquiti UniFi Switches are stable and support Layer 3. They come with a user-friendly interface. If you're not familiar with the command-line interface or you wouldn't like to configure it by using the command line, they have a user-friendly interface that you can use. They also have good documentation about how to use these switches.""It's been working fine, it's been stable, and there are no interruptions.""The product is seamless and robust.""The solution is very reliable and stable.""The two most valuable features are the remote access user and the side-to-side connection."

Cons
"In medium to large sectors, there's a necessity for managing aspects like proxy firewalls.""Technical support could be better.""MikroTik needs to add some features like IPS, mail security, or antivirus, et cetera.""The solution does not yet offer a SaaS version.""There has to be more development in the OS. It's complex for this switch as compared to others like Cisco. "I think they need to provide a better firewall solution.""Functionalities can change quite quickly without notice.""We need to upgrade everything too often.""Ubiquiti UniFi Switches need to add DNS lookup features.""Ubiquiti tends to end-of-life things faster than other companies do. Cisco tends to be in the 8-, 10-, 12-year time frame, and Ubiquiti tends to be in the 4- or 5-year time frame.""It would be nice if there was a way to label all of the ports on it so that I could include information about where the various connections go.""I would recommend changing the solution to a recognized one, such as Check Point or Fortinet.""I had some initial problems with the configuration that necessitated contacting technical support."

    Reviews from Real Users

A PeerSpot user who is a Director of Technical Operations/CTO at a consultancy says "The ability to deploy quickly and then having one central location for all the settings are its most valuable aspects."

"The integration with the controller is one of the most valuable features of these switches. They are also very stable. For example, we have some equipment that we haven't touched for four years that is still reliable," says Doru I., Senior solutions architect at Aplix Technologies

Murali S., Management Consultant at a consultancy, explains that “For the world where you have to balance traffic and traffic loads and bandwidth, their GUI makes it really easy because the switches, though they are enterprise grade level two or level three switches, the GUI is designed so that it's easy to set up VLANs where you need to control your traffic so that your phones don't break up and get choppy because of other people loading the network down too heavily."
