Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We have been able to reduce our number of FTEs.""The turnaround time of building bots is quick. We are deploying around four bots per month. The turnaround time to get a design, build, and deploy is very fast. This is very good for us. It has helped us out when scaling up in a better manner.""The product is easy to use. It is a good tool for developers and business users.""The support team is good and is able to resolve the issues or any challenges we encounter.""It has reduced the number of full-time employees.""It has improved a lot. We could identify a lot of manual processes that can be automated for our customers. The scope of automation by using Automation Anywhere has become wonderful. IQ Bot and AI sense are the incredible features provided.""The scalability of this solution is good compared to others.""Just for this use case, we had around 300 tickets coming in every month. We went live last month and the tickets went down to around 80 as of August 20th. While it might touch around 100, over a period of around six months it will become zero because we have not removed all the legacy data. We are just doing it from the go date of when we went live. The target is that it will be zero after three months. So, it's working well."

"I find WinAutomation's linear approach to the code and function calling valuable.""The feature most useful for integrating different applications is its ability to create flows. Specifically, we use flows to integrate with finance and operations.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Power Automate in the desktop version is web scraping because you can do a lot with it. I work in retail and you can study prices changes, which can give you a lot of information. The solution is no code which is a large advantage.""The best feature is that it doesn't require any other connectivity.""From my personal experience of using Microsoft Power Automate, I think that the automatic document processing feature is helpful for many organizations in streamlining administrative processes. It is a very good feature. It has helped many enterprises to process documents without spending much time on them.""There is an exhaustive amount of templates that users have access to.""I have found the scheduling and email notifications features to very good compared to other RPA tools I have used.""It has a gamut of things. Power Automate is easy to configure. It is more for a citizen developer. It is low code/no code. It is one of the easiest tools when it comes to configuration. By default, we have a lot of Microsoft products on our laptops or desktops. So, it is very easy to configure the remaining products."

Cons
"I am looking forward to seeing writing on Linux in the web and WorkBatch in the next release.""The IQ Bots have a lot of room for improvement in terms of accuracy level. We need to improvise a lot. I'm facing another big challenge with one of the use cases. We raised a ticket and did multiple follow-ups with support, but the accuracy still isn't up to the mark.""I would like to see integration better integration with Excel and SAP.""I would like better support. The technical support is mediocre. The support is sometimes really good, and sometimes it is really bad.""There could be more training provided by Automation Anywhere.""The API integration should be improved further since it is a bit difficult at the moment to connect with the API in the enterprise version.""The areas that need improvement are the license management, user access permission, user role access management, and technical support.""The feature, which might be interesting for companies that don't already have an identity management system, was a bit tricky because I would have preferred the system to directly rely on our corporate identity and access management system to manage the bot's credentials."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"They've already improved it, but I guess a testing suite would be nice to be able to test your automations in real time.""There are two versions of the automation suite. You've got your cloud functionality, and you have got your on-premises functionality for legacy systems. There are a lot of functionalities between the two systems that don't cross-correlate with each other. A lot of the functionality in the cloud system is not there on the production side in the on-prem system. If they could implement some of the similar functionalities and streamline them for integration, it would be a lot easier. There should be seamless integration between the two systems.""Tech support could be more hands-on. Right now, they simply direct users to documentation instead of directly dealing with issues.""I've had some issues with the stability.""It should be more stable, and their technical support should be faster. It should also have more integration with tools from other vendors, such as SAP and Oracle, and technology partners, such as Salesforce.""The solution could have more integration with different platforms.""If the product had onscreen help, it would be easier to learn and use.""The initial setup is complex and has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

  • "This solution is bundled with our Office 365, so there is no additional licensing fee."
  • "You pay for use and if you want a premium connector or adapter, but a lot of things are available for free."
  • "Power Automate is a much less expensive product than the competition."
  • "This solution is reasonably priced and offers a free trial period."
  • "There are many different ways to license it."
  • "There is flexibility in pricing."
  • "This solution can save money when used for simple tasks specifically using only Microsoft products."
  • "There is zero licensing cost. It comes with our Microsoft Office subscription."
