We performed a comparison between Cisco DNA Center and DX Spectrum based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Network Management Applications solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."
"The solution helps in user microsegmentation."
"The most valuable features were the monitoring, maintenance, and configuration."
"I think that their LAN automation is a very good feature."
"What I found valuable in Cisco DNA Center is the Software-Defined Access Network, so the entire LAN network can be centralized and managed from a single dashboard. Cisco DNA Center is suitable for centralized management and lets you deploy switches in a centralized fashion. You can also do multiple switch port configurations simultaneously and segregate your traffic into multiple fabrics. Another valuable feature of Cisco DNA Center is enhanced security through Scalable Group Tags. Cisco DNA Center can be integrated with your Cisco ISE to enhance the port securities, and this paves the way for Software-Defined Networking in the LAN segment, which is the main advantage of Cisco DNA Center. I also like that you can use Cisco DNA Center for data assurance or correlation. The solution shows your network and client health parameters, which I find convenient for troubleshooting."
"The monitoring features are very useful for network engineers."
"The product offers an intuitive and automated way to manage user networks. It gives me an insight into the network health."
"Application Assurance works very well."
"It does a lot of things automatically, and that's the big thing with it. They're making the software so that you don't need to be as knowledgeable as me on the switching and routing side to get your work done. If you want, you can have DNA troubleshoot your problem for you and give you solutions or fix it itself, if it was something that's just a configuration issue."
"Spectrum does such a great job of discovering our network that we have a high confidence in what our inventory is."
"It creates transparency and makes everything work by being more transparent."
"We can plan changes and replacement of end-of-life products in our environment very well because it's very accurate."
"Scalable and stable network monitoring tool with a simple setup."
"It's a good tool. It's simple to do the configuration."
"It is easy to navigate."
"It has a high-quality graphical interface."
"Spectrum is very useful for us, because the product lets us monitor and control all the various components of our infrastructure that support our business from an IT perspective."
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."
"Cisco DNA Center was a new technology for us, at the beginning, it was not easy to do, but Cisco did a lot of training with us to a level we could handle everything. The team is managing itself now without the assistance of Cisco."
"The features of Cisco DNA Center and Cisco Prime could have more parity."
"The product doesn’t have good monitoring capabilities."
"When it comes to deploying wireless fields, integrating defaults into the DNS interface can be challenging."
"The solution's integration feature can be better."
"The solution's technical support is an area with which my company's clients have a problem. Cisco doesn't provide good technical support unless a user has a big account that Cisco wants to retain."
"We encountered issues with their response times, which had a big impact on our workflow."
"The solution’s security side could be improved."
"DX Spectrum needs to incorporate faster support."
"If nobody else has said the documentation needs improvement, let's go there. I understand, you can either write about it or you can do it. And most of us would rather they do it, but now that they've done it, those of us that didn't do it, we need to go and find: "Where did they write about this to tell us how to do it?" That's always lacking."
"Its visualization can be improved. It doesn't have a very advanced GUI. It is very basic and simple, but it does work."
"There should be a facility to integrate with other monitoring applications that are currently running in the environment."
"We have had some issues with the spec server and the high availability replication of data. It fails over well, but it does not come back very well. We get duplicated events."
"There's a little bit of complexity to the initial install because you're dealing with operating systems. You have to make sure all the prerequisites are done, anti-virus exceptions, etc. Then there's the bringing it up and then there's discovery of the network and setting that up. It takes time."
"Our consultant was four months on-site doing Spectrum setup and working through issues."
"We have had one support issue that's been open for a couple of months, and it is currently open."
