We performed a comparison between Citrix SD-WAN and VMware SD-WAN based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN) Solutions solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The stability is the main feature of Citrix SD-WAN. You can also upgrade the data packages or have less transmission."
"It lowered our Internet costs and gave me the flexibility to choose providers based on each location's connectivity."
"The solution is brilliant, the way it calculates its paths and trails is great."
"The most valuable feature is its reliability."
"The zero-touch deployment is most valuable for us."
"The reliability of connectivity is most valuable."
"We are using it widely for the local record for SaaS-based applications. Another valuable feature is a local breakout."
"The tool is quite cost-effective because it replaces the need for MPLS, which is a bit expensive...Citrix SD-WAN doesn't need much maintenance."
"The most valuable feature is the dynamic multipath optimization."
"Initially, we had a scattered environment, but VMware SD-WAN helped us achieve centralization, which was beneficial."
"The most valuable feature is the Dynamic Multipath Optimization (DMPO), which allows the customer to maintain and monitor their link quality in real-time."
"VeloCloud developed DMPO to increase performance and connectivity."
"Has an optimization feature that acts to ensure the quality of the services running on the overlay to be most valuable."
"It is fairly similar to other solutions. It has the capability for testing link connectivity, which is its unique feature from a control perspective."
"I find the application-aware routing feature to be the most valuable."
"It is very simple to configure. When you use the cloud to configure the equipment, it has zero-touch provisioning."
"Given that Citrix SD-WAN solved all our problems by providing us with everything we needed to unify communications with our branches and data centers, I cannot suggest anything further in terms of improvements."
"The price is the only thing that could be improved. Citrix is not a cheap solution."
"Overall, network security and next-generation firewall features are areas that they can improve on."
"Even though the monitoring is pretty good, there is some room for improvement there."
"The reports need to be improved. We need to have them customized but they don't have that right now. I would like for them to have better system predictions. We don't have that right now. My system may be working fine right now but after making some changes, that can change."
"I would like to either see the price reduced or have it packaged with other products to give better value for the money."
"The communication around the life cycle would have been really helpful. The main issue we have had is related to the life cycle because some of the things that we are using were discontinued. They were discontinued within a year after we had purchased it, which is a bit painful. If we had known that, we would've made some other decisions."
"Enhancements are needed to improve the stability."
"There is one feature that would set VMware SD-WAN apart from others solutions, and that is what I call inter-cloud connectivity. All the solutions regarding VMware are good because for example, If I go from my workplace to a retail office and I want to use my applications in the Cloud, that is possible. Perhaps we have customers who have their IT partial environments hosted in different cloud locations, such as Amazon and Azure, and the interconnection between the clouds, this is not possible. If it was possible it would be a market game-changer. Having the SD-WAN solution that is good at optimizing and facilitating traffic between different cloud providers would be great."
"There are a number of customers we have that require a fully mashed SD-WAN on VeloCloud that is not available currently."
"It needs better security."
"I would like for them to upgrade to 5G integration. Our customers have 4G now and the connectivity isn't good. It should be much faster."
"VMware SD-WAN could improve by having more partnerships with other vendors."
"There is no security included, which is something that should be improved."
"VMware SD-WAN can improve on the security features."
"The product should have on-demand tunnels instead of fixed tunnels."
