We performed a comparison between Codebeamer and Microsoft Azure DevOps based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Suites solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."One of the most valuable features of Codebeamer is its strong performance."
"The traceability is so simple that I don't need to do any additional configurations related to traceability."
"There is a lot of complexity involved, meaning it can do many things, which can be quite useful."
"The solution easily replaces IBM DOORS, which no longer offers maintenance in China."
"It is a stable solution."
"The platform provided the flexibility to expand our business processes, accommodating or altering them to suit the requirements of a changing environment."
"Codebeamer's API-based integration and many other integration aspects with other solutions are very powerful."
"You can track the metrics in the Agile dashboard very easily."
"It is easy to use. The shared repository is useful. Everything is in one environment."
"Most developers and project managers choose the Microsoft tools to begin with because of familiarity, and these new tools are almost an extension of the tools you're already familiar with. There's a lot of knowledge transfer, which helps, rather than bringing in a new product line."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is that it saves time."
"It is stable, and we have had no issues with it."
"There are a lot of helpful features available for tracking dependencies."
"I really like the Microsoft DevOps survey."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the CI/CD pipeline, and the testing automation."
"It's very user-friendly, and the documentation is good. The most valuable feature is backlog item creation, where we pick features and other things. The burndown chart created for projects to be maintained by the development teams is also useful."
"Usability needs to be improved."
"I would like to see more, easily trackable reports."
"The solution has a very small market share in China. It's almost like a startup."
"During migrations from other platforms to CodeBeamer, there have been instances where we encountered issues that required redoing certain tasks."
"The product's UI is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"It would be helpful if Codebeamer's overall processing and integration with software like Jira could be improved."
"We would like to see more industry-specific features that are tailored to the vertical markets."
"The search and replace feature within the tool itself could be improved."
"The interface is very bad."
"Microsoft Azure DevOps should create some training materials."
"One thing I would note is that it's hard to know what is included or not in the product. Especially when you begin to try and compare it to other solutions. When you go to a site like VersionOne, they tell you Azure DevOps doesn't have this or that, and when you go to Microsoft, it says VersionOne doesn't have this or that. They could do a better job of laying out exactly what is on offer so customers know going in exactly what they'll get."
"The active directory password system needs some improvement because many times the password for the active directory expires before the set time."
"They have brought a lot of new collaboration features in the latest version. We haven't used those features, but they should continue to expand it more on the collaboration front so that two developers can look at the code and work at the same time. It will be helpful for working from home."
"The solution could work to improve their reporting."
"In comparison to JIRA, I believe DevOps has very poor reporting and metrics support."
"Right now, they tend to have a limit of 1,000 tasks per sprint, and some of their web-based boards, such as the Kanban boards, no longer display tasks. Once you hit over a certain number of task limits, you need to increase those limits."
