Find out in this report how the two HCI solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The primary purpose of this software is to create a virtual SAN between local storage on Hyper-V hosts. I find this feature most valuable since it accomplishes this quite well."
"In our case, the cost and high availability are the two most important factors which we were looking for in a solution."
"The backup is readily available for use, and the restoration process is easy."
"The ability to run a two-node cluster without a dedicated witness has made this an excellent product for small deployments, which is right on target for our needs in regional offices."
"The biggest benefit was that it allowed us to provide SAN services on a limited hardware budget."
"In the three years that we have been using StarWind, the product has yet to cause us any problems."
"Without the need for any downtime, enterprises can simply grow their storage infrastructure using StarWind Virtual SAN by adding new servers or disks to the current infrastructure."
"VSAN works great; it's very easy to install, configure, and manage."
"The feature that I like the most is the backup feature embedded inside the HPE SimpliVity. When we have any activity, within five minutes, we have a backup. It also has PDR for performing disaster recovery."
"The solution has integrated backup features that are useful."
"It is just a one-stop shop, a single appliance that I can control through my virtual center."
"The compression and deduplication ratio."
"It's very simple to manage. It has reduced the footprint in the datacenters quite a lot."
"A very small package but with lots of memory and CPU."
"The solution is scalable and one of the best in the market."

"There is one issue as far as licensing goes and that is a lack of documentation online for users when transitioning from the free version to the paid version, or vice versa."
"Some of the documentation seems to be a bit older and refers to deprecated items."
"The setup and documentation for the installation with the free version could definitely be improved."
"It should reclaim white spaces after big files are deleted."
"I would definitely like to see quite a bit more on the monitoring side of things."
"This solution should be more self-sufficient, running without creating domains or failover clusters."
"I wish there was online support because email return takes a long time and a faster solution should be found."
"It would help if the manufacturer provided clearer and more detailed documentation, with explanations of how the application can be installed in various HA configurations."
"I have some worries about the support after the acquisition. The support was better before HPE acquired SimpliVity."
"The price is quite high. The system could also be more scalable."
"The interface is good but takes some time to get used to."
"I can say that the support was better when it was a separate company, when it was SimpliVity. But, now with HPE it has not been quite as good. B"
"HPE SimpliVity should cost less."
"I have not seen ROI."
"The solution could have an optimization site."
"I would like to see it be a truly hybrid-cloud solution where I could take my on-prem SimpliVity environment and have replication to a cloud install."
"The user management could be a bit better. It's something they could improve upon in future releases."
"Lenovo ThinkAgile VX Series needs to improve its stability. Its resolution should be faster."
"Support could be better."
"With the VX machines, the clients often confuse the hardware itself with the services and resources. VMs are configured according to resources - memory, hard disk capacity, and network. These resources, including memory and processor, are actually shared on the VX Series. So, if the server's processor is underpowered or unreliable for the VMs, many of the VMs will encounter issues. Ideally, the physical server configuration should align more closely with the needs of the virtual servers."
