We performed a comparison between Dynatrace and SolarWinds AppOptics based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and Observability solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The triaging is amazing. And at the same time, it provides depth, all the way to what kind of a method, what variables are inside those methods. Without getting too into the technical, the depth it gets to, pinpointing the problematic area - where exactly the problem is happening - is amazing."
"The benefit for our company is that we have one direction and one main solution."
"The initial setup was straightforward. The documentation and the university helped on Dynatrace."
"You can see every step a transaction goes through, which servers it hits, and what technology it uses."
"The Dynatrace solution has an important role in optimizing application code and SQL queries for customer solutions."
"It is useful for analytics, web performance, end-to-end coverage of a user experience, and database analytics. It is absolutely a monitoring tool that is worth having. The visibility that it provides is a unique feature of this product."
"Having OneAgent is the most valuable feature of Dyantrace, as well as the monitoring."
"The best part of Dynatrace is that the tool is very lightweight and very easy to install."
"The product has a great dashboard."
"The reporting of the solution is very good."
"I have found the most valuable feature is application performance management."
"Technical support is always live and they're supportive."
"The sum solution, NTA, and DPA."
"Some of the most valuable features of SolarWinds are the topology discovery and network performance analysis."
"The dashboard tool needs to be improved. We need more options, because the look and feel is too old-fashioned."
"It's not very scalable, we cannot add another server onto it."
"I need more experience."
"We would like to see: * More Integration with cloud services * Simplified licensing * Single pane of glass view * Simplified reporting I* ntegration with ServiceNow and PagerDuty"
"From the Dynatrace SaaS platform, they talk about the APIs. The approach they take is, "We create the APIs, you use them however you want." I like it, that gives us flexibility. But at the same time, if your company does not have a huge number of APM specialists, or it does not have the time and resources available to spend on these kind of technology developments, it would be helpful if there were out-of-the-box solutions available from the platform. I would certainly consider that, because that would make us go to market much faster, rather than redeveloping our own solutions based on those APIs."
"For a new user of Dynatrace, the tool is not easy to understand, so this is an area for improvement. Before using it, you need to learn from an expert."
"The installation process had quite a few moving parts, so it was a little tricky getting everything to work in first go."
"Configuring nodes and agents should be more like plug and play."
"The implementation needs improvement. It needs to get modernized with the newer cloud scenario in both public and private deployment models."
"The integration with Unix services should be a bit more straightforward."
"In terms of the technology, I think they need to put some more advanced troubleshooting into SolarWinds, in terms of AI capabilities. That's the next generation, especially in the cases of APIs which have already adopted AI capabilities into their products."
"I would like to see more integration with other tools that are available on the market."
"The solution should be more user-friendly."
"AppOptics would benefit from having a much more centralized view."
