We performed a comparison between Ivanti Avalanche and SOTI MobiControl based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The best feature is that we don't need to worry about downtime. We don't need to worry about the network connections of our office or the virtual private network. Everything is being done through the internet. Using Intune Autopilot, we can configure and deploy everything to the devices."
"The stability of Microsoft Intune is good."
"This product offers an alternative solution to other UEM (Unified Endpoint Management) solutions."
"It is a very helpful solution."
"It has improve our organization through the remote management of non-domain joined devices."
"It allows our clients to have the confidence to centrally manage policies for security. It helps them in securing the organization from a technology aspect."
"A valuable feature is user enrollment, where users can enroll their devices in their organizations themselves."
"This product works very well for companies already using the full Microsoft suite."
"The solution is easy to work with. I like its stability and flexibility."
"The terminal remediation feature is valuable."
"Installing the packages remotely and remote control are the most valuable features. There are around 100 pieces or devices, and the only way to send a package to a device is by connecting to the PC and then manually sending the package. By using Avalanche, we can send a package to all devices with one click. It is very stable and easy to use. Their technical support is also very good. We have implemented this solution for our clients, and they are satisfied with this solution. It does what it is meant to do."
"It is a very easy-to-manage and granular policy-based solution. Policies that you can create per device per user behavior are the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable features of the Ivanti Avalanche are the remote control and the file transfer."
"The most useful feature of Avalanche is remote control — especially the ability to remotely install packages to many devices all at once. When the client has, for example, 100 devices needing updates, it would take far too long to update each device individually. But with Avalanche, we just connect to all the devices through the PC and send the updates out with one click."
"We use the Lockdown Kiosk Mode feature on all of our devices. We use that so that the operators can't change any settings in the background, and so that the applications they run are immediately available to them. It's a good feature."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that I can manage my devices remotely."
"The remote control we have helps us a lot."
"The ease of access was awesome. The guys helping us out were pretty fluent in the product. I currently have two devices in a dashboard that we're testing, but the solution that they have is awesome. I like that it's a cloud-based based solution, and I think there will be some significant cost savings."
"The company's support is the best. That'd be the number one thing."
"I have experience with technical support. They are quite good. Also, they very quickly understand the issues and what are the requirements from my side. Response time is also good."
"The most valuable features are remote control, remote monitoring of the mobile phone data, GPS localization, automobile network management, identity management, speaker logging, and remote management of mobile content."
"The SOTI MobiControl Assist tool is very good for remote controlling devices for troubleshooting. SOTI MobiControl is very helpful."
"They need to add more group policies. Intune currently does not have many group policies that you can deploy. Its reporting, which is very limited at the moment, also needs improvement. It will be great if they can add report customization. Its stability needs to be improved. Sometimes, when you register a device in Intune, it doesn't show up instantly on the engine portal on the admin side. They need to provide better support for complicated issues. They also have a long turnaround time."
"There needs to be more support for Mac operating systems."
"Technical support is not that great."
"Reporting could be improved. It needs to be more expensive and robust."
"Lacking ability to leverage more iOS device management internally."
"It would be beneficial to have a more straightforward understanding of Intune's capabilities, presented in a simplified manner."
"In terms of what can be improved, I am looking for better enhancements regarding Apple management, not only on the mobile device, but also on the laptop."
"The solution could improve by having better integration with Apple."
"In future releases, I would like to see more automation or bringing in AI into to understand device behavior."
"Because our clients are all very satisfied with Ivanti from their side, there is little I can say about room for improvement. However, I think that to stay competitive with other solutions offering a similiar solution, Ivanti could look into making their products more affordable."
"There is a lack of flexibility."
"The tool's stability could be better."
"Its price could be improved. It could be cheaper. I would like to see a better approach for Android and an easy way to send packages and manage devices."
"The solution can improve by adding a kiosk mode option to the devices."
"You need to get used to the admin console. I think it could be improved. It's not the best I've seen. Certainly, the software has a lot of features so you necessarily have some complexity in the interface, but I've seen better. They could make it easier in certain aspects."
"The previous version, for example, had the networking signal and that feature was great. When we were troubleshooting, we could find the level of the network I/O. If the worker was working in a corner of the warehouse where the signal was not as strong as in another part of the warehouse, we could tell, "Just move a little and you will have coverage for your device." That was great. I don't know why they removed it from the newer version."
"The solution could use better reporting."
"Reporting could be better. When I try to run a report, it doesn't have a filter or even a feature where I can choose what I have in the report. That's been a struggle since the first time I used it so I just don't touch it anymore."
"The pricing policy of SOTI is not stable. You buy it today at one price, and the following year, it becomes something like 5% or 7% higher. From my point of view, SOTI is a little bit weak in terms of implementation on the new Windows 10 devices, and they have to work on this. It can't compete with Intune and other solutions when it comes to Windows implementation. It almost doesn't work with iOS. It works well with Android."
"SOTI MobiControl is very good for Android and Windows, but it should add a little bit on the Apple side because it doesn't have much control on the Apple side."
"SOTI MobiControl's user interface is very tough to handle and should be made more user-friendly."
"I wish that I had some more tutorials and educational resources on how to use the product."
