JamF Pro vs VMware Workspace One
We performed a comparison between JamF Pro and VMware Workspace One based on our users’ reviews in four categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: JamF Pro is a PeerSpot user favorite due to dynamic features such as zero-touch deployment, numerous API integrations, Automated Device Enrollment, and device lost mode retrieval. JamF Pro is easily customizable, easy to deploy, and is an excellent tool for those organizations heavily vested in an Apple ecosystem. The consistently excellent service they provide makes it a solid, reliable solution.
"The ability to block and erase remote devices is valuable to us, especially when those devices are lost."
"It is helpful for managing devices anytime and any place without requiring dependency on the local networks."
"Conditional access helps me control uncontrolled access."
"There is a single pane of glass for user access and a single sign-on facility for the user. If you have already logged in to Microsoft Azure or on-premises, you can redirect directly to Microsoft Endpoint Manager, monitor all your security threats, and analyze the data associated with the application in a single, unified way."
"It works pretty well for us."
"Easy to use."
"The stability of Microsoft Intune is good."
"It is a very helpful solution."
"Jamf Pro allows us to manage all Apple devices from a single interface, making it easy to deploy and configure software, set policies, and inventory devices."
"The most valuable features of Jamf Pro for me are the device locator, which helps find missing iPads, and the ability to remotely manage and disable devices."
"The ease of use and access allows us to manage all of our devices collaboratively."
"The self-service is invaluable to the user."
"Integration with Apple's DEP program and the ability to image systems quickly and efficiently is one of the best features. I use Jamf Pro to push out remote access tools that allow us to help our users with issues that require more "hands-on" than only MDM can provide, which is nice as well."
"It is a first-rate product and well known in the industry as the gold standard for Apple device management."
"Jamf is stable, reliable, secure and you have lots of customization options."
"My team use this solution to provide end-to-end support on our managed Mac fleet. This includes doing OS updates and upgrades, application deployments, configuration settings and outlining."
"Workspace ONE adds a lot of value compared to Microsoft because Microsoft is a late entry into the market, and they're still developing their product from an end-user perspective. Workspace ONE has a slight edge because of AirWatch. VMware has developed its product over a longer period of time, so they have better integrations as a whole solution."
"The solution has very good documentation."
"Sometimes, we face an issue and raise a ticket. The technical support team is fantastic and resolves the issue."
"The most valuable features are the ones that control the leaking."
"The solution's Self-Service feature is valuable because it gives a single managed application that users can download and use based on their preferences and productivity."
"The antivirus and the ability to push security policies down to the device are key features."
"The platform makes the mobile device management process straightforward to handle."
"The feature that we find most valuable is the corporate email pushing."
"There are some issues using the solution with macOS and iOS, and it offers limited granular control with them. Intune works better on Windows and Android."
"Areas for improvement in Intune include expanding support beyond Samsung devices to accommodate other Android manufacturers like Redmi and Motorola."
"The reporting is subpar. That's the only issue we have with Intune. We use another solution for that purpose."
"It would help if administrators could pinpoint the exact location of a stolen device to help law enforcement retrieve it and apprehend the suspect."
"The product needs to upgrade itself when the server is overloaded."
"There can be more logs. I do not have any other requirements."
"The UI is not user-friendly and has room for improvement."
"The backend of Microsoft Intune needs to be improved. We have seen a little bit of delay as compared to other MDM solutions. That needs to be improved. A little bit more granularity should also be added"
"The solution only makes sense if you have a lot of macOS products in your company."
"Jamf could improve versioning as in outright blocking OS upgrades OR improving maintaining every application’s update feature. As of now, only some apps, like Flash, have managed updates."
"An in-house chat room would be a great way to communicate with your team when you aren't physically present with them."
"I would like to see Jamf add more training tutorials and documentation."
"The reporting with PowerBI could be improved."
"This solution would benefit from more focus on Self Service, such as Office 365 and GSuite integration."
"I am always complaining about the reporting side of things. I love how reporting lets us create custom reports, however, I also feel like it could use some updating."
"Inventory reporting could be better, however, that is already slated to improve with some of the new features Apple has announced in WWDC 2022."
"The solution is too complicated. A lot of end customers don't know how to start when they go into the console."
"From an improvement perspective, there is a need for discounts to be offered by the solution since it is something that any organization can expect from the product."
"We'd like more useful support."
"When we had some issues, the support did not respond quickly, and they did not provide a solution."
"The Content Locker cannot inherit permissions for the Windows Public Folder. If they could integrate with Microsoft on this point, it would be the perfect functionality."
"We're unhappy with the quality of support we get for it. We're unhappy with how upgrades occur, so we are migrating away from it. We have an on-premise AirWatch solution and for us to do upgrades we have to call AirWatch to be able to perform the upgrades. They're busy, and scheduling it is not timely enough for us."
"Security aspects such as data loss prevention could be improved."
"The console comes bunched together as a package and inbuilt. Its called Workspace ONE. Whenever we have an issue, we contact the service provider, and instead of a fix, we are just getting the next version of Workspace ONE."
