Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The integration of Defender, Security Center, and the Microsoft compliance score, is the feature we use most to share the results with our clients and to create a roadmap together.""What I like most is the protection against phishing emails and anti-spam.""The most important and the most relevant features of Defender for Endpoint are the malware and ransomware protection.""It is a straightforward setup.""We found that because the endpoint devices are based on Microsoft Windows devices and Windows Defender is integrated with the foundation and the core layer, it makes it more integrated and more agile in terms of responding to any security threats or changes or development""Stable endpoint manager, antivirus, and antimalware, with fast technical support and a straightforward setup.""It's free. There is no additional cost. It's part of Windows.""I like that Defender is integrated and doesn't have a third-party payload trying to advertise subscription renewal."

"I really like Trend Vision One - Cloud Security's dashboard.""Detection response and cloud conformity are valuable features.""Trend Vision One - Cloud Security's best features are security analysis, remote access security, and driver security.""The security is good.""The stability is quite good.""Trend Vision One goes beyond standard endpoint security by offering a dedicated IPS mechanism with a unique, separate database for servers, along with a large feature set specifically designed for server environments.""Vision One is versatile and can be integrated with many SIEMs. You're not limited to only one SIEM, such as Microsoft Sentinel. Cons
"Something that is unique to Microsoft is its licensing model. When you go out and you buy McAfee or Symantec, you know what you're getting out of the box, but with Microsoft, often, when you're looking to achieve a certain set of capabilities, those capabilities are spread across different products. You might try to do something you could do with CrowdStrike, but then find out that you also need to purchase Microsoft Defender for Identity or Microsoft Defender for Azure. You realize that when they talk about what they can offer within the Microsoft platform, it's really the suite of investments. So, sometimes, you may find yourself buying Defender for Endpoint thinking that it matches CrowdStrike, but then you find that Microsoft really needs to sell you something else. One plus one will equal three, but when you have a very concise platform, such as CrowdStrike, you know what you're going to get.""There is no behavior analytics for devices and endpoints. There is no behavior-based protection.""Our team's knowledge of the solution needs to be improved, and Microsoft could do a better job conveying the necessary information to users. We could proactively use the tool more and explore capabilities we are not yet utilizing.""The UI for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint needs to be better. Integration with client dashboards is also lacking in this product, e.g. client dashboards shouldn't just be viewable from the cloud, because when the client's computer is offline, you won't be able to see the client dashboard.""If you have multi-cloud like Google and AWS, the native solutions are better for those particular cases.""We encountered some misbehavior between Microsoft Office Suite and Defender. We had issues of old macros being blocked and some stuff going around the usage of Win32 APIs. There is some improvement between the Office products and Defender, and there is a bunch of stuff that you can configure in your antivirus solutions, but you have several baselines, such as security baselines for Edge, security baselines for Defender, and security baselines for MDM. You have configuration profiles as well. So, there a lot of parts where we can configure our antivirus solution, and we're getting conflicting configurations. This is the major part with which we're struggling in this solution. We are having calls and calls with Microsoft for getting rid of all configuration conflicts that we have. That's really the part that needs to be improved.""Threat intelligence has the potential for improvement, particularly by integrating more sources.""I would like the solution to be able to prevent unauthorized programs from installing and to block unauthorised URLs which is similar to web filtering product."

More Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Cons →

"The workbook insights generate a massive list, making it inconvenient to review.""The initial setup can be complex for the inexperienced.""The pricing can get high.""One area for improvement in Trend Vision One - Cloud Security is marketing; in particular, Trend Vision should update the marketing documentation. The information needs to be more comprehensive.""While it provides some data protection within its security framework, it doesn't allow users to customize policies or create their own for specific needs.""The local agent should be able to show more logs. At present, the logs are only available from the web console and not from the local agent.""The firewall configuration should have been automated based on the understanding of the application, utilities, and protocols.""Securing S3 using Trend Vision One - Cloud Security can cost too much. Trend Vision One - Cloud Security has a tool that requires lots of privileges. From my understanding, it's only for static application testing, so they need to add dynamic application testing, and there should be more collaboration with the application testing tools on the market. We have not used this product, and I don't know if they plan to decommission it or something. They should focus on application security because this tool's unique feature is multi-cloud support. However, they should improve integration with tools for these kinds of use cases, especially application security and dynamic scanning. For example, I would like it to support Dell SecureOps. I'd also like to see some enhancements to API gateway security."
