We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"With Mist, every Wednesday they roll out new features.""The solution is stable.""You can easily monitor, manage, and cover all your IT equipment.""The simplicity is great.""In terms of reporting, in terms of all the user reports, it's very rich.""The AI capabilities of Mist Wireless are superior to other OEMs.""The most valuable feature of the solution is Marvis, the AI-driven network management system.""The solution is very secure."

"Mist AI and Cloud have definitely improved the functioning of our organization. The access to the Internet, including its speed and reliability, has significantly improved.""Regarding features, the solution seems to be very intuitive.""The most valuable aspect is that they operate on small microservices, offering numerous open APIs that enhance the value of our Wi-Fi network. This flexibility allows us to optimize various aspects such as workforce planning and occupancy management. The platform is highly open in the market, providing robust APIs for seamless integration with other tools. Currently, we leverage these capabilities at a building site, incorporating IoT sensors to gather data. The collected data is stored in a centralized location, and we plan to use AI for analysis. This analysis will include insights on peak activity times, humidity levels, temperature variations, and other relevant metrics within the building.""It's really easy to provision and support. Those are its main features.""I have a very good experience with the solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""AI-driven automation helps implement the solution quickly.""Ability to control the access points by groups.""The AI deployment process involves adding access points and placing them in the designated area. The AI system automatically adjusts channel selection and transmission power without any issues with stability or throughput. It has improved network performance."

More Mist AI and Cloud Pros →

"The initial setup was easy. We didn't have any issues with the process and everything rolled out smoothly.""It is user-friendly. It is easy to set up health checks within PRTG and use scans. It is like a self-service tool, and anyone can configure their own settings within PRTG.""The sensors and probes are great, nice and lightweight, they don't take up too many resources on the system. We just deploy them out and they start reporting instantly.""The best feature is that it lets me know what is going on. I need to know if something has gone down, I need to know if something is running very slowly. PRTG tells me that.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The sensors and remote probes are phenomenal. We use them for all of our global sites. The problem with our global sites are that they are all VPNs. If the link goes down, you can't monitor other solutions, as it just goes off the grid. Having remote probes allows them to still carry on and get the information that we need when it comes back up, sending the information to us.""The installation is not that complex.""I like the mobility of the PRTG Network Monitor and ITOps Dashboard."

Cons
"Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) could improve if the MIST platform had a built-in master key. This would be an advantage.""I need a bit more time with it before criticizing the features.""The product should include adaptive Wi-Fi to show a more accurate location.""The price could be better.""They should include SD-WAN features to it.""There is room for improvement in terms of support and installation.""The pricing is very high in the Indian market.""The solution is expensive."

More Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points Cons →

"The user experience should be improved. It's not user-friendly.""Juniper should integrate all their dashboards instead of having separate dashboards...Since it lacks the integration of dashboards, Juniper needs to improve it.""The solution has various licensing policies. It will be easy to use if it is an open single license.""Mist AI and Cloud need to improve the configuration speed.""Mist AI and Cloud should improve its integrations.""There seems to be different versions of standards used in the wireless access points. In the future, it would be helpful if the solution could come up with some kind of universal standard for all devices and all access points.""Mist AI and Cloud should be marketed more and focus on making partners in the industry.""If there's one thing I'd like to change, it's the pricing. They are quite expensive, but honestly, it's justified by the value they provide. However, for a simple Wi-Fi connectivity with basic security needs, there are alternatives in the market that offer comparable features at a more budget-friendly price."

More Mist AI and Cloud Cons →

"The solution could be better and faster when it comes to performance.""Technical support is an area with concerns in PRTG Network Monitor, where improvements are required.""We would like to monitor certain aspects of the user experience. We should be able to analyze the cause of end user experience, bad or good, so we can do some research and development on our own.""PRTG's documentation could be improved.""The only sort of limitation is the actual probes. So, if you don't have enough probes on there, you can over flip them and cause the WMI sensors and SNMP sensors to sort of overload. Sometimes, they might timeout for a minute, but they do come back.""Can be slow in the way it polls the different engines.""I would like to have a VM version that can be installed on a cloud such as Azure. We're using Azure, and we're eliminating on-premise servers. It would be helpful to have a PRTG version that can be installed on the Azure cloud.""In the next release, PRTG Network Monitor should add a backup solution."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
