We performed a comparison between OpCon and UiPath based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about BMC, Tidal Software by Redwood, Redwood Software and others in Workload Automation."We particularly like the fact that it's graphical because it is Windows-based. Before, we were text-based on the mainframe. You can also produce flow charts. Because it's point-and-click, its ease of use is very nice."
"The ability to chain jobs together allows us to create complex interdependencies between our jobs, and the integration into our core system is important because it allows us, through an automated system, to do a huge number of things that used to be done manually."
"When a lot of jobs are scheduled on different platforms, without any interaction possible between them, it's very difficult to manage things. With OpCon we avoid this difficulty. It's very visual."
"MAS is by far the best feature, although not a feature of the software specifically. MAS has more knowledge than our employees, so we have been able to develop schedules that are far beyond our own skillset."
"The end code response allows us to evaluate how a process finished, set the termination/end code appropriately, and then trigger further processing based on how it ended."
"It has also helped to streamline our operations. We contract out our collection department so they are no longer housed on our system. They're housed on another platform. OpCon is able to not only pull in our data, but it also, on a daily basis, updates that third-party."
"With a simple click of a button in self-service, the department or the user can complete his/her job."
"The greatness of it is the flexibility of the scheduling and the integration of all platforms and processes. We have integrated it with everything from AIX to Microsoft Servers; with pretty much anything that we can."
"The most valuable feature is UiPath's integration with the AI chatbot for automating customer service in our web applications. We directly integrate ChatGPT to talk to the customer because it performs better than our old Python-based chatbot, which was really slow."
"Positive factors include ease of development, ease of maintenance, robust security, and a very good installed client base."
"When talking about deployment, you have a very robust infrastructure to manage your automations, the robots, and how they can be configured, deployed, executed, monitored, and maintained. When it comes to process discovery, it has excellent front-end tools and capabilities vis-à-vis Task Capture and Automation Hub."
"OCR technologies and computer vision (CV) technologies work very well and produce quality results."
"There are two features that I like a lot in UiPath: one is the Orchestrator option, and the other one is the Studio option."
"The most valuable feature is its time savings."
"I feel comfortable with UiPath. The thing that I like most is that UiPath has a very large community and a large ecosystem. So, it is easy to connect with other applications or platforms."
"The community enables a lot of users to get involved with UiPath. There are many open forums where a number of users share their thoughts."
"Enterprise Manager is a little clunky which I know they're addressing in the solution's manager."
"There are some limitations in the actual jobs that are created and how you're able to rename files. Suppose you're bringing in, say, 10, 15, or 20 reports from a core system, and you're using an "asterisk character" to identify files. For example, if you're grabbing files that start with this, end with this, but the characters in between could be different, it has to retain that same name in the destination. It won't allow you to rename them with a date stamp or the like."
"I would like OpCon to implement a reporting feature on the dashboard that displays historical data for specific jobs. Ideally, this feature would allow us to view the past seven days or the next seven days, but with a specific focus on highlighting instances where a particular job has historically failed, particularly on Saturdays over the past year."
"It would be great if you could create physically separate "clients," as I call them. I wish I could have a production client and a testing client and that they would be separate."
"I might like to see a little bit more of a seamless user interface. That would be good. They're moving towards a browser-type interface, rather than the Java application that we currently use. Also, a little bit more built-in self-service would be good, rather than a standalone product."
"The one area it needs some help in is the mainframe area because that is not its strength. They support the mainframe but it's not something that they are good at."
"The initial setup was fairly complex."
"The process of getting automations done and the process of testing them is a little complicated."
"Sometimes we get some disconnection issues. This happens maybe 10% of the time."
"It would be good if the product could work locally, without depending on the internet, as connectivity issues can cause problems."
"I have fewer issues with the user interface when I'm using Blue Prism or Automation Anywhere. For example, if you want to perform an action in UiPath, it's a little tricky because you must click on a particular icon. When you click on that, some selectors are generated. That will change whenever the application updates, so you must change the selector again after the update. When we are dealing with Automation Anywhere, we'll not get any selectors if we are using that action once."
"Additional help with ROM and approach would be an improvement."
"The tool needs to have more documentation and change logs. Minor upgrades break a few things."
"However, challenges arise when attempting to automate multiple VPN connections."
"These days, document understanding costs can be very high, so we've implemented it only for two or three customers. It can be very costly for clients, even though the functionality is very good."
"Support maintenance is an improvement area. I understand that UiPath Academy is there to help users understand it better, but it would be better if the support and community were faster in responding to what is requested by clients. Sometimes, it takes quite some time, so a faster response when clients need something would be better."
