We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Ease of management is certainly the most valuable feature in this product.""The most valuable features are flexibility and management.""Technical support has been good so far. We haven't had any issues with them. We're satisfied with the level of service they provide our company.""We can configure the Cisco UCS Manager, the profiles and interactions with the resource we manage.""What I like most about Cisco UCS Manager is the ease of administration. It also allows the central management of maintenance, installation, and configuration activities.""The interface is ergonomic and native. We can use UCS Manager to do all the configurations for the servers, including storage, networking, and all the other components we need inside the fabric. It's simple and flexible.""The solution is highly scalable, mainly because of the templates that make it easy for you to actually edit on the system.""When one server fails, we can attach the service profile to a new server, which saves a lot of time."

"It not only provides the preconfigured item monitoring feature, but it is also easy to configure custom items.""Zabbix is both stable and scalable.""The template system in Zabbix is very beneficial as it saves time in configuration.""The most valuable feature is monitoring.""It is a great product. The SNMP protocol tracking feature is good. I really like how it tracks SNMP. Cons
"In the next release, I would like to see improvements made to their security.""I found it a bit of a challenge to get training on UCSM. I've been trying to get that for some time now. I feel like I have to figure it out a lot of things myself. For years I've to log calls with support whenever I've got challenges that I cannot resolve. If I had some training or more manuals, I'd be better able to handle more things on my own.""Cisco UCS Manager is not a scalable solution because once you have 160 blades, it cannot be expanded more.""The installation and upgrade sytems need to be improved.""The pricing can be better.""Cisco UCS Manager should have a simplified deployment in the sense of not having multiple machines, demilitarized zones, and on-premise options.""I would like to see Cisco UCS optionally work as a hyper-converged system because right now, it only operates as a converged system.""There is room for improvement in the software part of Cisco UCS Manager. It should be more user-friendly, especially when creating policies."

More Cisco UCS Manager Cons →

"If Zabbix had a better dashboard then it would be nice.""Zabbix claims that there is an auto-discovery process but my team member was facing difficulty and was told that it's not really automatic, and there are some manual steps.""There's a small module of APM, however, it is not an enhanced version. People usually ask for a full-fledged APM solution.""As far as improvements, sometimes I get a bit frustrated when I move from a previous version to a new one because some configuration has changed—I need to investigate the documentation to deal with some configuration. But it doesn't take much time, so it's okay.""To improve Zabbix, adding more features to support the monitoring of modern workloads like containers would be beneficial.""There are some features of Zabbix that are not good for reporting. The DX Spectrum solution has better reporting.""The dashboard and the graph section could be a little bit more professional.""The System Center Operations Manager can be improved."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
