Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The simplicity is great.""The most valuable feature of Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) is the ability to troubleshoot ports on the network. Additionally, when there is an update on the APs they are able to reboot quickly reducing downtime. Other solutions have a longer downtime when updates are done.""The artificial intelligence feature is very good.""The most valuable feature of the solution is Marvis, the AI-driven network management system.""The solution is very secure.""With Mist, every Wednesday they roll out new features.""Juniper Mist offers valuable features like comprehensive network insight, granular policy control, fast device setup, strong security, and efficient SSL traffic management.""The solution is stable."

"It is a scalable solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""D-Link is a good product that is quite affordable and I recommend it.""This product is user-friendly and we can manage it as per the requirements of the user.""The most valuable feature of D-Link Wireless is its durability.""It's scalable, user friendly, and easy to manage.""The product's initial setup phase is easy.""This is an affordable product that offers good performance. This is why it is popular with our customers. It offers good speed and bandwidth.""The connectivity is good."

"HiveManager is extremely easy to use for anyone with little network experience.""The tech who handles Extreme IQ tells me it's easy to use and learn. He felt like it was pretty intuitive. It comes with solid training materials. He also has talked about the security features that give you as much or as little control as you want.""Ability to assign zero trust policies from the user.""The cloud management gives us the tools and reports that we need to monitor and troubleshoot the network.""The feature that I like to most is unified management in a multitenant environment, where we can manage all our customers with thousands of devices (routers, switches, VPNs, and APs).""Its configuration and deployment are the most valuable.""a true controller-less approach, where each Access Point is 100% independent from the management system.""I like ExtremeCloud IQ's unified single-pane-of-glass dashboard. It offers a lot of visibility of performance, and it's great for troubleshooting. You don't have to go to 55 different places. You can get the information you need with just a few clicks."

Cons
"The price could be better.""I need a bit more time with it before criticizing the features.""If you want to do more specific stuff, it's a bit limited.""It would be helpful to have even stronger security features to help protect against interference from other nearby access points that aren't part of our network.""Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points’ support services need improvement.""The product should include adaptive Wi-Fi to show a more accurate location.""Juniper Wireless AP can improve by continually improving its reporting and integration with other systems.""The solution is expensive."

More Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points Cons →

"Its interface and support system need much improvement. Sometimes, when we use the interface to reset the password and configure SSIDs, or some other changes, the "Save" option does not show and we have to go to some internal setting and then we can "save" the setting. The “Save” option should be in front of or below of the settings.""D-Link Wireless’s stability needs improvement.""The performance offered by D-Link Wireless can be a bit problematic at times, owing to which it is an area that can be considered for improvement.""In future, it would also be good to have a switch within D Link that works as well as the Cisco 9200 Switch.""Password restriction: Sometimes we set a password and it uses that password but, after some days/months, the password gets changed and a few laptops still use old the password while a few use the new password. The password restriction option needs to improve.""The tool's technical support can get difficult sometimes. We got a technician only after complaining for 10-15 days. The tool's technicians need to be made available everywhere.""D-Link has some catching up to do in terms of advancing and improving its technology.""The solution doesn't have hotspots. Users can't set it up so that visitors can log in via Facebook or social media as they can at, for example, airports. D-Link should include hotspots that offer integration with social media. That way, visitors don't need to be asking people for passwords. They can just use Facebook."

More D-Link Wireless Cons →

"Lacks cyber asset tracking.""An area for improvement in ExtremeCloud IQ is its technical support. Support could be better, especially when you need help concerning ExtremeCloud IQ and WinG.""The solution's performance needs to be enhanced because of a very high delay.""We have had some mediocre to poor experiences with tech support: Conflicting information, condescending attitudes, and reluctance to work to resolve an issue.""I know a school district, a big school district of mine, ripped out Extreme due to inefficiencies. It was the guest network that can be a struggle. They tried to differentiate between their primary network, and then offer a secondary.""The Virtual Appliance crashed once while doing an upgrade. The good thing here is, even if the management system fails, all our networks and features still remain 100% stable and working.""Pricing could be improved. It could be lower.""A room for improvement in ExtremeCloud IQ is roaming. My team is facing roaming issues with the solution, particularly when using VoIP over WiFi. For example, VoIP sometimes breaks when you walk around the customer site. In terms of what I'd like to see in the next release of the solution, right now, the inventory for ExtremeCloud IQ is awful. There's no stock, and you must wait a year and a half for new stocks. It's awful."

  • "Juniper Wireless AP's price is a little more expensive than other solutions, but you get what you pay for."
  • "The pricing is something Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) can work on. The pricing is very high compared to the competition."
  • "The pricing is too high."
  • "The solution is expensive."
  • "I rate Juniper Mist's pricing a ten out of ten since it is expensive."

  • "D-Link pricing is very competitive when you consider other OEMs."
  • "D-Link Wireless is cheaper than Ruckus or Cisco."
  • "This solution is more affordable than others on the market."
  • "On a scale of one to ten, where one is very cheap and ten is very expensive, I rate the pricing an eight out of ten."
  • "D-Link Wireless' price is the same as Aruba's. You need to pay one-time costs for the product."
  • "The product is affordable."
  • "There is no licensing fee for the solution."
  • "The cost can range from $100 to $400."

  • "Although the pricing is a bit high, I consider Aerohive to be well worth the money."
  • "Buy near the end of Q4 in order to get a deal."
  • "Bring the cost down."
  • "I would advise that you be sure to compare apples with apples. Many customers just look at the price per AP and licences, and compare that against other solutions. But, they do not look at the complete picture such as: TCO - how much the equipment will cost you over, say, seven years? Will the customer need to change complete infrastructure when they want to buy the newest hardware? Does support include a lifetime warranty and RMA?"
  • "For example, if you compare Aruba vs Aerohive, you need to check which licences from Aruba you need to match the functionality of Aerohive (usually you need at least three types of licences and a controller with redundancy). The same goes with Cisco, where you need buy additional licences for central management, firewall, spectral analysis, WIPS, PPSK, etc. Aerohive has a very simple model - one licence for all the functionalities - and you can believe that there are many. One licence makes it easy to maintain, scale, renew and you can plan your costs 10 years in advance."
  • "Start small and grow big. You can choose the basic Aerohive Connect free subscription solution and, later, if needed (in terms of functionality) you can upgrade to Aerohive Select."
  • "There are probably cheaper solutions but we invest for stability and performance for the longer haul."
  • "I did a multi-year license. It was a three-year license. It compares well with others in terms of the price. It is about a hundred dollars per year on a three-year scale."
