We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We don't have a big team of people that can watch the dials and check that everything is okay. We're doing a lot of the monitoring of our website and our product at the side of the desk. We need a solution that does a lot for us, and that's what Eggplant does.""We find the solution stable and scalable.""It is not a conventional test automation tool. It uses optical character recognition (OCR) to identify objects. It makes it the best in the class."

"What I found best in Tricentis NeoLoad is that it's better with scripting and load test execution in the load testing environment compared to its competitors. The tool has a better design, scenarios, and model, which I find helpful. I also found the Result Manager a fascinating part of Tricentis NeoLoad because of the way it collates results and presents reports. The straightforward implementation of Tricentis NeoLoad, including ease of use, is also valuable to my team.""With the tool, it is possible to compare NeoLoad test results against baseline and benchmark, and we can make the comparisons in the same window.""The dashboards give extensive statistics, which help with quick report preparation and analysis.""The most valuable feature is the ability to execute parallel requests, unlike JMeter and LoadRunner which can only be run sequentially.""NeoLoad is actually really good, mainly because they have a world-class support service.""I would rate it as eight out of 10 for ease of setting up.""From a functional perspective, the range of tools provided with Tricentis NeoLoad is perhaps the widest.""It offered us an easy to use, limited code option for end-to-end performance testing."

Cons
"I'd like to see the ability to integrate the user experience through device forms like AWS device forms or source labs.""Performance is one key area for improvement. It can be slower compared to other tools I've used."

More Eggplant Performance Cons →

"While importing the scripts from backup it should not create the new variables because it has created some issues for us.""The solution’s pricing is higher compared to other tools. Though the product’s reports are accurate, it needs to be more detailed like other tools.""The product must improve the features that allow integration with CI/CD pipelines.""In future releases, it would be good if extra added features for integration are added into NeoLoad.""The UI lacks sufficient object rendering.""It needs improvements in the UI. It's currently not as friendly as it should be.""Tricentis NeoLoad crashes if an application contains more than 1,000 scripts.""Connecting with the solution's technical support can be time-consuming. The turnaround time for a ticket raised is around 72 hours, which becomes an issue when working on a huge project in our company."

  • "Eggplant came out as the most competitive in terms of commercials (terms and conditions) which was positive. When we did the initial negotiations, Eggplant started at a price but they were open to negotiations and we did negotiate a discount. That was really important to us because it showed a level of commitment to us."
  • "The pricing is competitive in India."

The six phases of an IT project Enthusiasm Disillusionment Panic Search for the guilty Punishment of the innocent (the performance tester) Praise and rewards for the incompetent non-participants This article has been put together as part of an evaluation of the performance test tools NeoLoad and LoadRunner. I consulted a variety of sources, including user groups, discussions with colleagues, telephone chats with HP (the vendors of LoadRunner) and Neotys (the vendors of NeoLoad), and of course the Oracle – Google. The opinions in this article are my own and do not represent the views of any particular company, the software vendors or any organisation (and I’ve assumed that readers have some knowledge of web application performance testing). The versions discussed in this article as of April 2014 are: LoadRunner 11.52 NeoLoad 4.2.2 I hope this evaluation and comparison will assist you with your own evaluation of LoadRunner and NeoLoad. Introduction LoadRunner and NeoLoad are considered the top two best performance testing tools on the market. Comparing the two tools is just like comparing a Mercedes Benz and a BMW: both are high performance, perfectly engineered machines that also have an associated prestige. Performance testing is a critical component of the software testing process. It determines the actual operational boundaries that will simulate the real world use of an application. Performance testing is load testing, stress testing and scalability testing. Why… Read more →

    Overview
eggPlant Performance provides sophisticated performance testing and load testing tools that can test the widest range of technology and can scale up to simulate any load you need, but are still easy-to-use. eggPlant Performance has been designed to cleanly manage the difficult stuff so you spend more of your time looking at what really matters – improving the user experience of your application. It ensures that your cloud and server based applications will continue to work, perform, and provide an excellent user experience with hundreds or thousands of simultaneous users. eggPlant Performance consists of three main components: Studio, Test Controller, and Analyzer. Studio is used to create the different components of a load test (including scripts, test data, test definitions, and monitoring targets). Test Controller is used subsequently to execute the tests and monitor them during runtime. Analyzer is then used to view completed test runs and their results, as well as generate a wide variety of charts and tables to analyze the data. eggPlant Performance supports a variety of virtual user types for different automation options, depending on the performance or load testing requirements and objectives. — Web HTPP/S: For protocol-level web scripting — Rich clients/UI-based: This includes Citrix VUs (for automating any desktop app published over Citrix), eggPlant Functional VUs (for integration with TestPlant’s functional UI testing tool), WinDriver VUs(for driving the interface of any Windows-based rich client application through a combination of object- and image-based approaches), Selenium VUs (for automating the user experience of browsers). — TCP/UDP: For recording network traffic
