Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is extremely customizable to each and every one of my clients' needs.""The value is that monday.com provides us with an overall picture of how much work a teammate has.""The boards and the sub-boards are great.""The most valuable aspects of the solution include the charts which are very useful for the reports.""I like monday.com's automation capabilities the most, but the reporting is also excellent. Jira and our other tools provide decent reporting, but monday.com adds another layer. We can drill further down into processes, problems, and issues. These reports have helped us to control our sales funnel.""It's very easy to use. When we were trying to pick a system, we looked at Asana, Jira, and other platforms, and they were very cluttered. But monday.com is very user-friendly. As a user, everything is very clear. You don't need to be too tech-savvy to understand it and it's very easy to pick up on and learn.""The board customization is an incredibly valuable feature.""The time savings alone is worth every penny and man-hour it took settings up the business profile."

"It stands out by automating the intricate mechanics of project execution, eliminating the need for highly technical individuals to manage and reconfigure models.""The solution is performance-oriented and easily customized accordingly to many areas, such as performance KPI.""Overall, our company has all disintegrated systems, and with Planisware, we are getting a very integrated view of my portfolio reporting, cost and load, and everything else.""We have a variety of different modules, but it is mainly used for costs, risks, and resources.""There are two things in particular that I enjoy. The first is the portfolio planning section. Another advantage is that it is highly customizable.""The area that could benefit from improvement in this Planisware is the project management tool. I have previously used Project Server, which is a Microsoft solution, and I found it to be more user-friendly as it included a client solution. In contrast, with this solution, the only option available is the online version, making it difficult to create activities, milestones, and other necessary components. This is in comparison to Planisware, which offers a more comprehensive solution."

Cons
"The feature which needs more improvement or development is the dashboard.""There are occasional glitches in the system that cause the website to be down temporarily.""Having more pre-defined formats and/or templates or having the ability to make public some formats/templates (not the information on them) would be useful.""It does have some native report widgets, but there are limitations on those. They're still building that capability out in my opinion. The reporting in monday.com is probably the weakest link, but there are third-party apps that you can add in that do some great reporting for you. You can also tie monday.com into a data warehouse and use something like Tableau, Power BI, or any reporting tool that can report out of a data warehouse to get the more in-depth reports that you need. Monday.com will get there, but it doesn't seem to be one of their top priorities.""I have never not found a feature I want.""Monday.com can be improved by becoming even more simplistic in settings/layout.""The ability to build the dashboard and visualizations out of the data that is in the platform could be better. There are no color themes and no further customization on that front, so you cannot brandify or white label all the platforms to make it look more like your business rather than a generic one.""I wish there were more calculations available across boards and pulses."

More monday.com Cons →

"More integration is needed with other kinds of products for better collaboration.""The learning curve is steep and there could be more avenues for opening up learning materials to a broader audience, enabling individuals to gain practical experience with the tool.""Its stability should be improved. Its stability is the main issue, but we sometimes also have issues with calculations.""The solution's user experience and user interface need improvement because they are not that great and intuitive.""The area that could benefit from improvement in this Planisware is the project management tool. I have previously used Project Server, which is a Microsoft solution, and I found it to be more user-friendly as it included a client solution. In contrast, with this solution, the only option available is the online version, making it difficult to create activities, milestones, and other necessary components. This is in comparison to Planisware, which offers a more comprehensive solution.""They do not have anything that can assist customers with multi-year roadmap planning."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I wasn't involved with the licensing, but I believe it's negotiable."
  • "The solution is quite inexpensive. For example, we pay $8,500 for 75 users. It's somewhere around $100 a user, approximately."
  • "The project manager would be responsible for any licensing fees. As an end-user, we just follow suit."
  • "Fees are paid monthly per user."
  • "The price is reasonable for the number of users we have."
  • "I am using its free version."
  • "We tell others it's about $2200 for a ten-person plan and it can be adjusted; it's easy to scale."
  • "monday.com's pricing is fair compared to its competitors, although it is a bit more expensive than most of them. It's more expensive than Jira, Zoho, ClickUp, and Trello. But it is fairly priced when you compare the kinds of features and the capabilities that you get and the ROI."
  • More monday.com Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The solution could be less expensive and the cost of scaling is expensive too."
  • "There are training and certification costs."
  • "The solution is expensive and support is an extra cost. There are three license types to choose from, and we only pay for support and cloud services depending on our needs."
  • "It comes with a high cost."

    Reviews from Real Users

monday.com stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its task status feature and its ability to integrate with external apps. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

Ben D., Front End Developer at a marketing services firm, writes of the product, “Their flagship feature, what used to be called the pulse, is great. Pulse offers great management. Being able to see everything at a glance and check task status, is wonderful. They use subtasks and the simple aspects of task management have been really helpful.”

Another PeerSpot reviewer, the Head of Projects at Smart Media SA, notes, “The boards offer an amazing and clear view of my tasks, campaigns, and progress. Automations especially with Slack and Outlook help with keeping my team up-to-date always. Graphs and charts are valuable for reporting purposes and to track progress made. Workforms/surveys are valuable and a very cool added feature.”

Resource and cost scheduling, time tracking, risk and document management in a collaborative environment. Software solution that supports the end-to-end governance of company portfolios, from finance and resource planning, to the life cycle management of products.
