We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Amazon S3 is a storage bucket service with good stability.""The solution auto-scales so it is easily scalable.""An important feature of the Amazon S3's system is that it offers encryption while the files are at rest. This is crucial in ensuring the security of the files being restored and addressing potential security risks. That's what I would emphasize.""The tool helps us with data backup storage of payment files and helps us avoid issues with clients when we miss the data. For instance, in the payment file of my Google client, you can find details of one-to-one transactions like the payment information on the file header, payment ID, payment client ID, group headers, etc. We get these details into the file format of ISO which is the accepted format at JP Morgan & Chase. Once we get the file format, we process it through S3.""What I found most valuable in Amazon S3 is its versioning feature. I also like that you can create pre-signed URLs on the solution.""The most valuable features of Amazon S3 are the global availability, resiliency, and ease of access control.""It's good for starting up because you only pay for what you use.""Enables content sharing by multiple users."

"The interface is good.""It's a scalable product.""The backup is reliable and intuitive.""The most valuable feature is the ability to perform encrypted backups after any learning.""Oracle Database Backup Service is an easy-to-use consolidation solution that's dashboard-driven.""Replication and performance tuning are valuable features.""The product works very fast. It automates a lot of operations in the background.""The product's most valuable features are differential and cumulative backup functionality."

Cons
"We have cold storage here, and I think that's useful. When it comes to commercialization, it's cheaper to put data that you won't be using into the data storage. You only use a little bit of the data needed each day for your transition, so you pay less.""I would like there to be more support without needing to use Transfer Family.""I would like a batch downloading option added to the AWS console.""If a certain resource is left unchecked, you can easily use a lot of it and drive up costs.""The solution requires you to buy and use Amazon services.""The security model can be improved as it is a bit confusing.""The tool needs to improve its flexibility in support.""It is expensive for storing."

More Amazon S3 Cons →

"The product's technical support services need improvement in terms of response time.""We encounter issues while restoring differential and cumulative backups.""Deployment is overly complex and could be streamlined.""The solution needs to add an archive function.""Oracle Database Backup Service is not a cheap solution.""It's already fast, but still, they could improve the speed.""They should base their strategy according to the country and the regulations there, and focus more on the on-premises deployment.""The product can protect from external data penetration, but the in-house IT team can access it."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "With S3 Standard, there is not a charge for deletion of objects."
  • "This solution has reasonable pricing and a low cost."
  • "The licensing is pay as you go, and I'm happy with the pricing."
  • "The cost of storage is cheap. However, the cost to have a better interface can get expensive. We are using Athena for this purpose and if we did some heavy queries the cost will start adding up. When the Athena query is running, it will scan the bucket and they charge for how many GBs we are going to scan. The function of scanning has a lot of costs attached to it, this is a negative point."
  • "The price of the Amazon S3 is low. The license model is based on what you use."
  • "The price of Amazon S3 depends on various variables. However, the price overall is fair."
  • "The price of Amazon S3 could be less expensive."
  • "The license of Amazon S3 is based on volume, capacity, and time. The overall price of the solution could improve. The support has to be added if you want it at an additional cost."

  • "It's an expensive solution and is an area that needs improvement."
