We performed a comparison between ARIS BPA and Camunda based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Business Process Design solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The capability to integrate all information of the business and to generate simulations of processes. It can analyze the model of operations quickly."
"ARIS provides the basic foundation for any digital transformation an organization decides to take."
"I am an advanced user. ARIS BPM is intuitive for me because I know the UML, BPMN, and EPC methodologies implemented in this tool. It is very easy to create processes for restructuring a company with some descriptions."
"Visualizes processes which helps the business see pain points."
"It has the ability to scale up, as well as integrate with other systems within the organization to get real-time information from dashboards and reports."
"Collaboration and governance over enterprise artifacts."
"The tool has good navigation."
"Object oriented modeling allows us to trace what's going on with the specified object."
"The BPMN diagram is valuable. For our use case of transferring money from one account to another, the connections have to be done in the traditional financial ways. There are a lot of unexpected errors and a lot of instability with this kind of system, and we are using Camunda in order to have clear flows. With BPMN, I can show a flow to my business partner, and the business team can easily understand what's going on. The technical team can understand what the implementation is, and we can model different errors and the process for recovering from these errors."
"The modeler is useful for creating the flow. The way to access the data through their REST API is also valuable. This is what we're using right now."
"We have been able to save costs using this solution compared to the product we used before."
"The solution is good for data models."
"Overall, the solution has been very solid."
"I love that Camunda is a very developer-friendly platform, and my customers have evaluated the pricing as reasonable."
"We are documenting all of the processors and VPN. Then we are sharing it with our business users."
"It's user friendly, much better than most tools I have seen."
"I could use more icons and other graphical elements."
"The governance mechanism could be better, as could automation."
"The reporting capabilities and the ability to create custom reports need to be simplified and made easy so that people even with a good functional understanding of the tool can leverage it to create their own custom report."
"End-to-end visibility and real-time are areas that will need greater attention."
"An area where it lacks and can be considered for improvement in the future is if we can somehow automate or learn how we can automate different processes."
"One of the biggest challenges is to realistically enable the defined structures of the processes that you have in ARIS documented, and then actually implement them in the business."
"The user experience's usability (in general) should be improved as the tool is updated."
"I would like the possibility to use real data. In other words, it can use this system to integrate with others that are operating directing with users like clients, employs, and others."
"We have faced problems with the performance."
"I would say that Camunda should actually focus on small cases as well. There's a lot of space out there, for small businesses. If they can, they should cater to them."
"If Camunda could develop something that creates user forms that would be a great feature to have. They also need to improve the UI."
"The initial set up could be simplified, it's complex."
"The support offered by the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"I think it would be important to internationalize the Cockpit and the Admin as well as with the Tasklist."
"It has a Postgres database at the backend, and it is very difficult to scale if you increase the number of processes running. We did hit some barriers. We were able to overcome them, but it was a problem. Camunda has another product called Camunda Cloud, which supposedly doesn't have the same scalability problems, but we are not using Camunda Cloud because the set of features is smaller than Camunda On-Premises. So, its scalability can be improved. Because it has a single database, it is more difficult to scale if you have a huge success."
"The user interface needs some polishing because it is too technical for end-users to use it."
