We performed a comparison between Boomi AtomSphere Master Data Hub and Informatica MDM based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Cloud Master Data Management (MDM) Solutions solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable feature is that it's very easy to develop the processes and we have been using it for a long time. At that time, no other tool was available, and it was the best product. When we first got it, I don't think it was a Dell product back then. We upgraded to the cloud last year. Today, it's still the best because it's very user-friendly, and the user interface is also very user-friendly. We can easily develop the processes quickly."
"We use the administrator to create different interfaces. We developed APIs for specific applications like data validation between systems. We have our own product and base it on the Boomi interfaces that generate this type of data validation."
"The most valuable features of Boomi AtomSphere Master Data Hub are the ability to do data integrations, APM Management, MDM, and data catalog."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is that it seems to be more of a drag and drop interface."
"I think that it's a good solution...It is stable because we have the experience to deploy this solution."
"It comes with lot of features and is a one-stop-shop solution for integration, data modeling, and data governance. Everything can be built under one particular umbrella. If any issues come up, then there won't be any blame game saying that it could be an integration issue or an MDM hub issue because it's wholly owned by Informatica. That's the biggest advantage of Informatica MDM over that of any other tools that are available on the market."
"New tools are coming out that will enable you to achieve 90 percent of use cases with the out-of-the-box configuration, but I would like to keep Informatica tight here. Otherwise, you need a Java user edit course and other things to do multiple things that you cannot configure out of the box. They have to go through those use cases to do something if those can also be configured rather than coded."
"We can see all our information on a single screen."
"We've used the solution for quite some time, so in our organization, the product is pretty mature."
"It has flexibility in extending the data model."
"Informatica MDM has data quality, mastering the data's capability."
"The most valuable features of Informatica MDM are the IDQ and RDM data management."
"The price could be better. It would also be better if they stopped changing the icons every six months. Whenever they change it, users have to adapt to them again."
"We have problems in some scenarios where there are messages in the queue and would require some support."
"The reporting needs to be improved to help get more KPIs in the longterm. Now, the system keeps only three months."
"Boomi AtomSphere Master Data Hub could improve by having a ChatGPT AI tool to solve problems and develop quicker."
"The biggest pain point for us is the documentation. Typically, you have to go through knowledge forums and knowledge groups to find out about the syntax issues for interfacing with new products. Typically, you've got to deal with someone who has been through the pain before. Their documents are not really up to date with current innovations happening in the industry. As big as they are, you can't really expect it, but that's our pain point."
"It could be a bit more intuitive, rather than technically complex."
"The user interface can be a bit more functionality-aligned."
"The configurations could be better. It is a bit confusing because we must develop two tools when building a data model in Informatica MDM. Even though Informatica MDM is a single tool, we have our hub console plus the provisioning tool within that. Whatever data model we are building in the hub console, we have to develop it in the provisioning tool again. It is double the work to create a data model. We are also using external calls or the Java custom plans functions. This can be both positive and negative. Since MDM as a client does not support any complex validation, we have to depend on the external call or a Java call. Every time we deployed, the entire solution was impacted if something went wrong."
"Informatica's issue is the licensing. Right now, there are a lot of new gen MDMs that are offering a lot in a single licensing model."
"Compared to other tools in the market, Informatica MDM is costly."
"Informatica MDM could be improved by adding drag and drop options, business data insights, and visualization reporting."
"I feel the out-of-the-box APIs or the API management could be improved slightly from their current state. It could be more user-friendly."
