Find out in this report how the two Network Management Applications solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The product offers an intuitive and automated way to manage user networks. It gives me an insight into the network health."
"The most valuable features of the solution are all of its security features...It is a highly scalable solution."
"The best feature of Cisco DNA Center is the visibility page, where you can see everything on the dashboard, and you don't have to be a technical person to view the issues."
"It gives us automation capabilities for pushing out the configuration to branch networks. It also provides visibility into the health of user network devices."
"The solution has the capability to scale."
"It offers automation, security enforcement, analytics, and integration with other Cisco technologies, making it a key driver for efficient network operations and compliance with security protocols."
"What I found valuable in Cisco DNA Center is the Software-Defined Access Network, so the entire LAN network can be centralized and managed from a single dashboard. Cisco DNA Center is suitable for centralized management and lets you deploy switches in a centralized fashion. You can also do multiple switch port configurations simultaneously and segregate your traffic into multiple fabrics. Another valuable feature of Cisco DNA Center is enhanced security through Scalable Group Tags. Cisco DNA Center can be integrated with your Cisco ISE to enhance the port securities, and this paves the way for Software-Defined Networking in the LAN segment, which is the main advantage of Cisco DNA Center. I also like that you can use Cisco DNA Center for data assurance or correlation. The solution shows your network and client health parameters, which I find convenient for troubleshooting."
"I think that their LAN automation is a very good feature."
"The Client 360 feature provides a comprehensive view of your clients and their activities, including the devices they use. Additionally, a feature called Network 360 offers a 360-degree view of the network, like data usage (in GB), the status of ports and AP, and other details. You can drill down on granular-level drills to gain insights into specific applications and usage patterns like application level and fee, where your data is being wasted or what your clients are doing with the Internet data, what kind of applications they are using, etc."
"It allows me to see APs and clients that are having issues, allowing for faster support response and less downtime."
"It is more cost effective and gives more flexibility."
"What I like best about ExtremeCloud IQ is its ease of use. Flexibility is another pro of ExtremeCloud IQ. I also find ExtremeCloud IQ feature-rich."
"Our transaction polling is now way more secure."
"It excels in Wi-Fi and switch management, as well as other internal management aspects, offering speed and efficiency that surpass what other competitors provide."
"The HiveManager integration with the VPN Gateway is awesome."
"The cloud-based management interface allows us to fully manage all our wireless radios, ensuring consistency and ease of access."
"The weaknesses primarily involve pricing and the ongoing need for increased bandwidth and data throughput."
"When it comes to deploying wireless fields, integrating defaults into the DNS interface can be challenging."
"The task failure reporting or provisioning failure reporting could be a little bit better in the UI, with more information given to the user."
"The product doesn’t have good monitoring capabilities."
"DNA Center has been on the market for a few years and they need to update it."
"In terms of the clustering part, there are some concerns."
"Cisco could improve the security side of their solutions."
"What could be improved is the licensing cost of Cisco DNA Center. It's a little bit expensive."
"The certification costs from suppliers are getting out of control, and it's not just Extreme. We have the same problem with Cisco and Huawei."
"We'd like to have a cloud dashboard from which we can see all devices."
"ExtremeCloud should invest in an SD-WAN solution or integration with SD-WAN."
"I know a school district, a big school district of mine, ripped out Extreme due to inefficiencies. It was the guest network that can be a struggle. They tried to differentiate between their primary network, and then offer a secondary."
"There can be an improvement by incorporating two-factor authentication or multi-factor authentication for security. Advanced network access control features and application control features should be added to manage applications. Many customers are interested in managing data, such as setting data quotas for individual users."
"The licensing model could be improved."
"For me, the only issue is the potential delay in the tool statistics updating in real time after making changes."
"They can improve just the onboarding process. More user information about the introduction to the product would be helpful. It would be good if they have a better user introduction to the new product because it is different than the prior version."
