Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The database is great. It's a nicely ordered database.""Maybe they could improve the capability to be multi-tenant.""ConnectWise Automate's interface is pretty easy to use. It's pretty intuitive to get around and navigate it. It does what I need, which is usually connecting to the client and customers systems.""Scripting and patch management are really important for us. Patch Manager is something that we use a lot, and we would love to have it continually improved. It is one of the most useful features for us for controlling patches and other things for different clients.""The most value we get from this solution is that everything is on a patch cycle.""It is very scalable.""A good automated scripts feature.""The implementation is nice and easy."

"I rate Oracle Enterprise Manager eight out of 10 for stability.""The most valuable features are security and speed.""We can manage everything in our environment.""It is the best monitoring tool for Oracle databases.""It can also help with capacity planning, sizing, and maximizing overall performance in a large scale environment.""I like that it's stable.""What I like most about Oracle Enterprise Manager are its features, particularly the active session history. It provides insights into SQL, and I use it regularly to identify potential issues.""The product gives us as much control as we can have by providing a complete picture of the whole set of Oracle products."

Cons
"We would love to get feature updates and cumulative updates fixed. I know they aren't really supposed to be pushed with Patch Manager. We've got recommendations from ConnectWise to use the scripted feature update installs, scripted KB updates, etc. Having these in Patch Manager itself would be great.""The menu doesn't always load properly.""They always change the GUI to some dumb-down version of tiles which are more "user-friendly", but slows my team down in the end.""There could be better linkages between ConnectWise Automate and Manage from a ticketing perspective. Automate and Manage each has its own ticketing system. We use the one in Manage, but it'd be nice if they were linked directly to the one in Automate.""Technical support was helpful.""The project management needs improvement and there's a section of the product called configuration that also needs to be improved.""This is a raw system. Of course, it has some flaws that could be improved. But, it's something that we will have to work with to get to the point where we need this, we request it and they do their best to make it happen.""I have a problem with the reports available on the solution. I don't understand how to work with the reporting functionality. For example, when I want to give a report for a specific machine, ConnectWise doesn't seem to have this as an option. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, or if the reporting functionality is just poorly conceived."

More ConnectWise Automate Cons →

"We have encountered performance issues when the load is huge.""The solution is not as simple as people say it is.""RMAN tools need improvement.""There are limited numbers of other OEM devices that can be integrated into enterprise management that can be scaled by Oracle by adding other OEM devices to enterprise management.""I would like to improve the cost.""The fact that Oracle Enterprise Manager is an expensive solution is a matter of concern and needs to be considered for improvement.""It is complicated to run it on Google Chrome.""It needs to support the Database versions lower than 10.2."

    Reviews from Real Users

Oracle Enterprise Manager stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Several major ones are its central management and monitoring and its reporting capabilities

Robin C., head of Oracle Exadata Centre of Excellence at Tata Consultancy Services, writes, "The database performance monitoring features are very useful and allow us to quickly zero in on DB-related issues. Exadata storage server and Infiniband switches can be viewed from the GUI in OEM which cannot be done in other tools. The ability to deploy metric extensions makes this tool extensible for our custom monitoring also."

PeerSpot users note the effectiveness of these features. A database manager at a tech services company notes, “The solution's most valuable aspect is the fact that it is embedded with the Oracle database and Oracle's engineering system, its extra data, and analytics.  They have plug-ins that are very helpful. Due to the infrastructure's size, the introduction they offer is very, very useful. It helps with an overall understanding of the product. They have a very nice graphical user interface. The monitoring is good. We can capture the SQL tune from us. With Oracle Enterprise Managers, we can see the rich performance tuning.”
