We performed a comparison between Dynatrace and Sysdig Monitor based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Container Monitoring solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Simplified the way to monitor a medium to big environment."
"We have been capturing all the information and evaluating whether it can be improved or not."
"It helps us get to the resolution quicker, and potentially the root cause, and at least understand what is happening for future identification."
"In terms of AI, I love the base-lining Dynatrace provides us. It baselines the application over a seven-day period; we have it at the default of seven days. The artificial intelligence is so amazing because it can automatically track each transaction and their response times: how much CPU they use, how much memory, resources that they use. If there’s any deviation from that Dynatrace will tell me like right away. If there’s a deployment and the deployment has increased response time or is taking up CPU or has caused a memory leak, I can say, “Hey guys, you need to look at this, it’s this function on this page in this microservice, in this docker container. You need to go here, you need to fix it, it’s not going live.” It has just increased our productivity off the charts."
"Scalability is great. My biggest concern when we first put it in was the resources that it would take up, network traffic that it might create. But it seems perfectly scalable to any environment. Even on some of our heaviest use servers, it doesn't seem to affect anything."
"This solution is perfectly stable. The main feature with this solution is that you do not need to do a lot stuff. Everything is being done by the tool itself. Everything is in there for you. There is nothing much needed from your resources; it is all in there."
"We can go back to when a specific user had an issue and trace the entire transaction from the client to the database."
"It is a platform that is very well-suited for marketers, but also for technology people. That is the key: the dashboard."
"Docker containers are completely supported, kind of like "first class citizens"."
"The ability to stop/pause and capture logs when something happens is the most valuable feature."
"I was hands on in the setup of the solution. Initially, it seemed a little daunting."
"Add support for Ruby."
"Session export for offline analysis, like it was in AppMon, would be also nice."
"I need more experience."
"Custom reporting is still missing."
"It does not have mature enough dashboards."
"I would like to have something more along the lines of the old DC RUM, because we have lot of clients with old technologies, legacy technology, and we really want to integrate it with Dynatrace so that they can use just one single product. So, it needs better integration with legacy products."
"There are a lot of features that could be added that would make this a very useful solution, but it is getting there."
""Events" reporting (errors, crashes, etc.) is not clear at all in a Mesos environment (i.e., it's not clear what specific container is the one that went down). In a Docker Compose environment, it may be way better."
"It is needs to automate the actions to take when an alert is triggered."
