Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work.""The price is low and quite competitive with others.""I get alerts when scripts are detected in the environment.""The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers.""The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors""Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out.""The stability is very good.""The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls."

"The product's initial setup phase was not at all difficult.""The development of use cases on the SSA console is quite user friendly. This means that the security analyst or the researcher does not have to learn another language.""The most valuable features are the packet inspection and the automated incident response.""NetWitness can be highly beneficial for incident detection and response.""Offers a good wireless feature.""It's quite economical compared to other solutions in the market.""The software is scalable to whatever is required, and you can also put a lot of resources in the cloud.""The product has a user-friendly interface and a valuable feature for threat intelligence integration."

Cons
"The dashboard isn't easy to access and manage.""I would like the solution to extend beyond endpoint protection and include other attack surfaces such as other network components.""We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments.""The support needs improvement.""We've had a lot of false positives; things incorrectly flagged that require manual configuration to allow. Even worse, after we allow a legitimate program, it sometimes gets flagged again after an update. This has caused a lot of extra work for my team.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices.""It takes about two business days for initial support, which is too slow in urgent situations."

"The log system is a bit complex and has room for improvement.""The product's licensing models are complex to understand. This particular area needs improvement.""The solution should have more integration capabilities with different platforms.""The multi-tenant capabilities are lagging compared to IBM QRadar.""Lots of competing products have vulnerability protection built into their products, and this solution would be improved by including that support.""It should have a monitoring feature. It would help us analyze the current state of attacks faster from a single platform.""Nowadays, their support is a little subpar compared to other solutions. I rate RSA support six out of 10.""There is no support for this product in this country, so problems have to be resolved through global technical teams."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.

NetWitness Platform is an evolved SIEM and threat detection and response solution that functions as a single, unified platform for ALL your security data. It features an advanced analyst workbench for triaging alerts and incidents, and it orchestrates security operations programs end to end. In short: NetWitness Platform is all you need to run an intelligent SOC.
