We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The financial posting controls are quite handy. The user interface is really friendly, highly flexible, and pretty intuitive for end users.""Individual user profiles that can be configured as templates to minimize data entry.""The most valuable feature is the distribution module.""All the modules are valuable in their own right, but everything has to go through the ERP. IFS has done an excellent job integrating the various modules to complete these processes. My expertise is in the finance module, but I have used the other verticals. It's an all-around good product.""The product is quite flexible.""Feature-wise, I like the way it provides inventory details...It is a stable solution.""What I like about IFS Applications is that it's easier to use and implement than SAP. I also like that the IFS Applications team is more flexible than the SAP team.""The main reason for the ERP project was to bring together our fourteen sites, which had until then worked in separate silos."

"We are getting more features after switching to Microsoft 365.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is cloud accessibility.""It's quite reliable, and there's a good local provider who can adapt the solution for tax issues.""It is easy to use, and it works very well for small-scale companies.""The solution is easy to use, flexible, and customizable.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is the Teams application. I use Teams to share documents amongst my team members, have meetings, and talk to them.""The most valuable features of Business Central for me are its seamless integration with Power BI and the ability to create customized reports.""The customer support is good. The first level of support agent in every case was able to solve the problem very quickly."

Cons
"I have seen that one of the areas that my company has identified for improvement might be the rental management capabilities within the solution.""We would like to see AI-driven CSI functions built into the tool that would allow us to quickly tie our improvement goals to metrics and activities, so Assyst will suggest the next steps to help us get closer to our goals.""I'm a business analyst, so I do a lot of customer-facing work. I take calls from businesses I have to troubleshoot. One thing that bugs me is the error messages you get from IFS. If I get an error message, I have to dig to find the cause because, often, the error message doesn't precisely describe the problem. It'll hint about where the problem lies, but you have to work to find the root cause. It doesn't help in my situation. You expect an error message to point to the field or what is causing the issue.""Some kind of bot assistance, some kind of artificial intelligence to help people solve the problems, would be interesting.""Ability to place approval check-points in the custom workflow, so clients can decide what they want it.""The support provided by IFS Applications has room for improvement. I'm based in Poland, and when my company had an issue, finding people from IFS to give my company the support it needed was difficult.""The CRM was shaky and although this improves in Apps 10, there is room for improvement.""The solution's initial setup process was complex...The technical support my company receives from the implementation partners of the solution is not that great."

"Microsoft Dynamics NAV could improve the reporting.""Some of the control aspects such as auditing can definitely be improved. For example, auditing is not very easy, and the user permissions are complicated.""For a big company like us with millions of transactions, the scalability isn't enough.""The solution could include the retail tool in the native version.""If Microsoft made some of the security setups a little easier to work with, that would be a significant improvement. The warehouse management features could also use some work. We had to buy third-party software to make NAV's warehouse management and security more usable and functional.""I think Microsoft should improve on the process of how the user decides on a business workflow. For example, there may be some kind of drag-and-drop interface that lets us decide for ourselves how to develop the business workflows that fit our purpose.""The reporting tool has room for improvement.""I wouldn't say that Microsoft Dynamics is very scalable."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is better to buy implementation services from IFS than from partners"
  • "Licensing is on an annual basis, with no additional costs."
  • "Ask for all-inclusive pricing, as they are pretty flexible if you ask for custom models."
  • "Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
  • "IFS Applications is expensive software, but it's on par with SAP and Oracle. It's for large enterprises and government entities and not for small and medium-sized enterprises. They have one licensing model, but if you want to have a module-specific license, they provide component-based licenses. Unlike SAP and Oracle, it doesn't have different levels of licensing. It's one level of licensing."
  • "There's an additional yearly cost for support."
  • "There are varying license levels that you can purchase."
  • "IFS Applications are competitive in terms of pricing compared to other vendors, such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor. They are generally cheaper, especially for licensing costs."
  • More IFS Cloud Platform Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The first time we tried to buy the newest version, it was expensive."
  • "I have some subscription-based customer and a few customers who have perpetual licenses that hosted the application on the cloud."
  • "The price of the solution is reasonable."
  • "The price of the solution is reasonable."
  • "I think the pricing is the best; it's cost effective for sure."
  • "Microsoft Dynamics NAV has a pay-as-you-use payment model."
  • "NAV might be a little pricey for a small or medium-sized company, but all the solutions out there are."
  • "The cost is one of the benefits. If you don't want to go for the full-blown finance and operations, the pricing model is a lot cheaper and has now switched to being based on a per-user subscription. So, if it's on cloud, you now have an expense instead of a large CapEx. If it's on-prem, you obviously still have to continue with the licensing model that they have, but if you compare the features and functionality, in terms of the price that you pay, I find it's better than other products. My answer on the pricing would be slightly different, depending on the country you're in and the return on investment, based on the size of the company. It's well-priced internationally. I think the new model is priced even better because it's now subscription-based and, if you go for cloud, the return on investment is a lot quicker and if it's expense, you can cap it. If you do take the on-prem version, the licensing is still priced as what it used to be, so that would depend on what country you are in."
