Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Our customers have the solution deployed on the cloud or on-premises. The deployment took about a month.""Infor dEPM's got the best end-user reporting solution that keeps us motivated and moving forward with this solution only.""You can get the data directly from the database with Excel formulas.""The planning capability is the most valuable feature."

"The stability is fine and quite user friendly.""It's very easy to use and the functionality is quite complete.""Oracle Hyperion is fairly user-friendly and not too complicated. The forecasting, it's really good. It's sometimes slow when there are a lot of users using it and we can have up to approximately 300 users using it. However, you can do it in Excel because there's an Excel add-in. This is a benefit because a lot of people do this way instead of having to go into the planning application itself.""Oracle Hyperion is an engine allowing you to build whatever you want on it.""The implementation has been simplified now that it's deployed in the cloud. Also, Hyperion is tightly integrated with Oracle products because Oracle owns it now.""We can collect data from various sources, which is very useful for budgeting and planning.""It's a very good program and it's useful for consolidation.""Since it is an enterprise-capable solution, people are not worried about security, giving data, the ability to manage complex consolidation, and its ability to modify reporting."

Cons
"The usability could be better.""It's a very expensive solution.""The latest version has been cloud-enabled, but it requires a deeper understanding of programming skills compared to the previous versions, which were more user-friendly.""The initial setup from a user perspective can be cumbersome and has room for improvement."

More Infor dEPM Cons →

"Their documentation could be a little bit more descriptive at places. They don't really do a lot of How-Tos because that gets pushed through to the consulting groups. There have been some books. There is a real good one out there about how to look smarter than you are with Hyperion Planning that some people at a company called ArganoInterRel wrote. Those things do exist, but that's not in their documentation. It's basically like they'll say, "This is the field. This is what it's used for," but they don't tell you how to particularly use it in your case environment.""Hyperion has much room for improvement, especially disaster recovery. You don't have the option to choose the proper disaster recovery method. We have Hyperion and an SQL server on the backend. We have active solutions for the backend database server, which aren't working for our people. They've asked us to remove the high availability to increase application performance.""Oracle EPM Cloud solutions have simplified the security model. Nevertheless, it would be better having a more differentiated security model.""We are still having some issues with the ASO Cube. It can take a long time to clear the data in the ASO Cube compared to BSO data-clearing operations. We don't have a specific calculation in the ASO, and we only have these aggregate options on the ASO side. If we need calculations, we have to calculate them in the BSO and pass the data to the ASO Cube for the reporting. That's one of the drawbacks. Oracle could also improve on the data logging side as well.""They could support machine learning algorithms for the product.""There can be an improvement in many regards with the dimensions, the metadata, the interfaces, as well as the integration.""Configuration is a little complex, it's not very easy. The solution is integrated with Essbase and there are not many users of the Essbase database. If they can provide different modules for each subject area, like supply chain, for inventory forecasting or for order management forecasting, it would make each subject area easier to manage.""Oracle Hyperion generally it's quite a complex architecture that is hard to maintain."
