Find out in this report how the two Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."We haven't had any stability issues."
"It is nice to be able to monitor and to have notifications."
"The reporting is great. Everything you need is in the report for you already."
"It is easier to deploy than are other SIEMs, which is great. You can also get an overview of your environment, which is very handy."
"The product is very user-friendly."
"It basically helps us. We have to stay in compliance with certain issues with some of our customers. We have to have these types of tools in place for protecting our network and our data. We're in the aerospace industry, so we have a lot of defense contracts. So, all those guys will make sure that we're protecting their information, and it does a good job in that aspect."
"The solution could be improved by including XDR, remediation and Sandbox."
"The Sharecon feature is the most valuable."
"The best thing about AlienVault USM is it being a “Jack-of-All Trades” solution. It provides SIEM, HIDS/NIDS, FIM, NetFlow, Asset Management, Vulnerability Management, etc., under one USM platform. None of the commercial SIEM vendors like ArcSight, McAfee, etc., can boast of such a diverse feature set."
"The setup is very easy and straightforward."
"On any given day I could give you a different answer regarding the most valuable features of the product. The feature that is most important is the fact that it has a lot of features, that it's not just a log collection and correlation system, that it has a lot of other components built in. The bundle of features is really the killer feature."
"OTX is a great module that lets staff maintain and monitor updates regarding events in the infrastructure and takes decision to improve the security perimeter."
"The ease of implementation is the most valuable feature."
"We are able to get alerts perfectly with FIM and VA features."
"The asset management of nodes has been a large help in terms of being able to track applications with more detail and have changes made being monitored into one source."
"It provides a single pane of glass view, coupled with a whole security ecosystem. The ability to manage everything from a central point, including vulnerability assessments, asset management - including the services provided by the various hosts, NIDS, HIDS, etc. - provides a very efficient way of dealing with things."
"The support needs improvement."
"Their technical support should be improved."
"The matter of the data retention needs to be addressed."
"There is room for improvement, especially in the reporting aspect. The reports are not as good as those in Splunk."
"The solution lacks some features when compared to other products."
"It's difficult to find which conditions have been applied to a report because they are provided by default by ManageEngine. However, with other SIEMs if you want to create a report, they provide details, like which conditions are triggering certain reports. This needs to be there in ManageEngine. It would be good to know which parameter has been applied to the report that is updating the system."
"On the logging system, there's a local on-client side that is encrypted, and there's one that is not encrypted. It is only for diagnostical purposes. However, both being encrypted would be very valuable for some audits."
"We can log in as a local user, and it's fine, but when we login with an Active Directory user, we cannot."
"Its reporting tools need improvements. It would be good if they can provide integration with other ticketing systems. Currently, we only have integration with Slack and Jira. It is also a bit slow, and its replication engine can be improved."
"The GUI needs to improve because it's not user-friendly."
"I think plugin management should be self-service on AlienVault USM. The other product is self-service but on the USM side. You have to submit a ticket then AT&T creates and updates the plugins."
"Source material on the forums to be more up-to-date with the changes happening within the product. Forums being out-of-date with information due to the changes makes troubleshooting a little more difficult - specific to the HIDS agents."
"The only room for improvement I can mention is the initial installation procedures. I found that the online installation instructions for the product were missing important details, they lacked necessary steps."
"The reporting and dashboards have room for improvement."
"The solution is a bit complicated. It could be simplified quite a bit."
"The vulnerability reporting needs to have options to be able to sort or customize the output."
