We performed a comparison between Microsoft Azure DevOps and ServiceNow IT Business Management based on our users’ reviews in four categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Microsoft Azure DevOps finishes slightly ahead of ServiceNow IT Business Management. Azure DevOps is easier to use and implement and integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft solutions. It provides excellent collaboration and the ability to monitor numerous activities all at once. Workflows are easy to learn and manage, saving time and money, which helps to keep teams productive and profitable.
"The nice thing about Visual Studio Code is that it's a modular design. So if you're working on a strange language that has a different syntax, you can just get a plugin that'll format your code for you based on the language it's in."
"I think the most usable thing is that you can follow the whole progress of the development process. This makes it very useful for us."
"The extensibility of the work item forms and customizations as well as the backend API to query the data, et cetera, and manipulate the data programmatically are all very valuable aspects of the product."
"Our technical sales staff and business development people need to know how far the developers are on any product that we're developing. DevOps makes it easier for you to see how far along they are with the work because they have a repository where they store everything. There is a portal where you can see what has been done, what has been tested, what is working, and what isn't. I have a huge dashboard with an overview of what the development team is doing from an executive point of view."
"The most valuable feature in automating our build and release processes with Azure DevOps is the scheduling capability."
"It's very user-friendly, and the documentation is good. The most valuable feature is backlog item creation, where we pick features and other things. The burndown chart created for projects to be maintained by the development teams is also useful."
"The pricing seems to be reasonable."
"Microsoft Azure DevOps integrates well with other components, such as Synapse, which is a data warehouse tool of Azure. It is a framework platform for BI and integrated with other tools, such as Power BI."
"We mainly use the solution to support operations and align our ITSM operations with our business goals. This involves coordinating between our application development, support teams, and network engineering teams. When there's an issue at the product or network level, we raise a ticket, and our team works together to resolve it."
"The product is quite convenient and user-friendly."
"We like the status report feature. It is something really valuable."
"The stability is excellent. ServiceNow is one of the leading platforms when it comes to stability."
"Everything is valuable. It is tough to choose a particular feature, but project portfolio management along with agile 2.0 are two key product features that I would suggest for services companies like us."
"The ease of use is the most valuable feature. It's very intuitive to set up."
"You don't need a lot of plugins."
"The program is stable."
"Azure DevOps is set up more for development and less for testing. If it is set up correctly, everyone can use it better, but it was set up from a development point of view, which means it is lacking in what I need from a testing perspective. Just like any other tool, it depends on how it is configured. I am not happy with the way it is set up. It is configured more from a development side, and it doesn't necessarily cater to all the other areas that probably need to use it, such as testing data, etc."
"With Microsoft, I would prefer to have more test plans. It's very difficult to find individual test plan module training."
"Project management could be improved."
"The solution can improve by adding integration with on-premise tools. The only built-in repository options are GitHub and DevOps."
"The only downside is that the deployment could be a little challenging but it is manageable."
"The dashboards need bigger with better extensions and layouts. There isn't a workflow related to the statuses on the dashboard. It only lists the statuses. You can have one started, and once done, but everything in between is only in progress and could be in any order you want, it lacks flow."
"I want DevOps to have more automated reminders about tasks that don't need management. We don't have reminders, so a project manager must track the tasks. It's not automatic."
"Its testing features are limited and can be improved a little more. They should provide more options from the testing and build perspective. Currently, we have to use a third-party product for testing. It would be great if it has more than one testing tool."
"The product does not give us the freedom to capture all the instances, test cases, and evidence."
"The price is too high."
"The user interface could be more modern."
"It could be more user-friendly."
"When we originally set it up, we had some kind of success manager free of charge, and now it's an additional charge over and above what we're paying."
"The solution needs a few things in terms of resource management."
"ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management could improve by having more Agile features. Other solutions, such as Rally have more."
"The portfolio management tool is not as good as DevOps or Jira because it requires a Russian site and BitLocker to train users or run projects."
