We performed a comparison between PTC Windchill and Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about LeanIX, Sparx Systems, erwin by Quest and others in Enterprise Architecture Management."I like how the product integrates with other technical solutions."
"The solution is easy to use, supports SysML and UML, and is able to connect to MATLAB. This is very important for us."
"The most valuable feature is the integrated data model, so if I change the name of an item, all models using that object are automatically updated."
"It provides good utilization and it's a convenient tool for building exact architectural work."
"For the most part, we find that it is remarkable how inexpensive it is."
"Its traversability is most valuable. I can use ArchiMate, and I can create a UML model. ArchiMate is for logical enterprise architecture, UML is for software engineering, and BPMN is for business processes. I can build it to have multiple models, and they are also traversable, which is not something that every tool allows. If there is a huge organization, you can segment it and have separate models for business technology or internal resource management system. You don't need to keep them in one model, and you can decide to segregate them."
"It has led some teams to do better code reviews - to be less focussed on coding conventions (syntax) and more focussed on the semantics because of the abstraction level clear design affords."
"It is an EA tool that is approved by Open Group. It is in the tool register of Open Group."
"It is a useful tool for modeling and testing automated processes."
"Some parts of the system are exclusive, so we can't work with them."
"Its usability needs to be improved. For non-technical users, it is a little difficult to understand how Enterprise Architect works. Users who are not engineers find it difficult to understand how this tool works. This is something they need to work on. They can develop a BPM model to simulate processes."
"Their technical support is not good in India. I wrote to them because I had a question, but I never got an answer. So, I just left it behind."
"There used to be that feature in ArchiMate Modeling of Enterprise Architect called inherited relationships. Now it's gone."
"The dashboard and connectivity could be improved."
"The initial setup of the Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect It's very complicated. It's very difficult to start with the right templates because there are many possibilities. The deployment took approximately two days."
"It would be nice to have it supported on the Linux operating system."
"Even if there are web-based tools in the Enterprise Architecture tool ecosystem (like Prolaborate), the main modeling application is still a fat client application."
"This solution is quite complex to use. It would be nice if the learning curve wasn't so steep."
